If they officially classify it as entertainment and the entertainment tax passes, then it'll be included within a grouping of taxes.
I haven't seen Gov. Guinn's proposal but I would love to see his justification. What is he going to provide to these types of businesses only, that they need to pay extra taxes that other forms of businesses don't need to pay?
Getting pretty tired of seeing taxes levied based on prosperity.
http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/02/26/brothel.tax.ap/
Gov. Kenny Guinn has proposed a 7.3 percent tax on entertainment and admissions that is expected to generate $82.5 million in its first year. His proposal lists movies, professional sporting events, adult cabarets, strip clubs, art galleries and beauty contests, among others, as subject to the tax.
Brothels are not listed in the blue ribbon commission's 1,100-page report on which Guinn based his proposal -- but they also are not listed among the exempted businesses, which include massage, yoga and golf.

didn't they do that in Arizona 10 or 20 years ago? they didn't legalize it, just taxed it. so they busted you for tax evasion if you didn't have tax stamps when they busted you for possession.
