Don't know that this is what HTC is planing but I would kinda like to see something like this.
*********************************************
I log in.
I pick and airfield.
I get a briefing/list of the type of Aircraft available at that field.
Then I get a briefing like.
"A Rooks raid has been picked up on Radar IB to Knights Field 2. Get your load out, and follow ATC Steer to the Target.
So I pick my weapons load out, and get in the cockpit, and taxi to the runway that ATC Directs me too.
Maybe I'm flying the P-40C and they only Climb at 130IAS, so ATC Steers me away from the incomming raid until I get some alt that will make it a close call.
When I reach some alt, ATC Vectors me toward the Raid, or maybe the raid is over, and the steer me to interdict the raider on their egress.
Or maybe there is a Furball near Knight Field 2, and ATC Steers me to the furball cause us Knights aren't doing to well.
Providied I land, I submit my claims. (Hey It happened that way)
I can look at the Guncamera film at this time.
The computer tallies how many Kills I'm gonna get.
Then next time I check into my plane there is a couple Rooks painted on the side.
If I get killed, I loose the rooks on the side.
Maybe when I log in the briefer infos me on a raid scheduled to Bishops 1 Field, and I will need to fly fighter support. I get breifed that I have to follow such and such a flight plan, and rondevous with bombers at a certain alt, at a certain place, and stick with them as they egress from thier raid.
But when I leave the tower/airfield ops center/whatever. I have an Assigned Mission.

Neat idea. Wonder how it will play with the larger community.

Sounds great. X-Plane http://www.x-plane.com (http://www.x-plane.com) uses voice-synthesis for ATC, which avoids scripted announcements and allows dynamic instructions for every situation, without having to pre-record ATC messages.
I'd LOVE to see some sort of ATC info, which could be called upon on request (eg like in European Air War).
