A. Just keep flyin'.
B. Adjust your brightness (gamma) and keep flyin'.
C. Log off and possibly go to another arena.

There's a point where I can't make out the names of friendlies no matter what.

But oh well ... it's the turds tryin to shoot me down that matter :)

I usually spawn an Ostie or an M16 with tracers turned off and drive to the nearest enemy field I can spawn at and hide in one of the enemy hangers and vulch them as they take off.

Post by: MrLars on March 03, 2003, 04:41:48 AM: I go hunting for the inevitible GV attack or NOE raid. There's lots of action during the sunset/night/sunrise transition, catching and attacking either kind of attack at sunrise or sunset adds alot of immersion for me.

I do have my Vcard tweeked a bit brighter at all times, but only because of the Nvidia Direct 3D's normaly dark picture.

i don't believe in "B" it's as gamey as anything else others whine about being gamey and defeats the intent.

The pitch-black night doesnt but me, but the huge gradients during dusk/dawn are unplayable as far as I'm concerned.

I personally wish that dusk and dawn would be accellerated to a couple of minutes, and the rest of the time filled in with a dark night time. You could easily extend the effective length of night, without sacrificing daytime.

Love sneaking up on someone that can't deal with it and getting an easy kill...

Just means that you have to be more SA then usual.

Regardless of your tracer selection, your gun position tracers (GVs, PTs and Bombers) are ALWAYS visable to other players.

My answer is A. I keep flying. If I happen to be in the tower when night is coming, I'll sometimes go up in a LANC or B17 for an overnight bombing mission.

Really? I could have sworn I've been pinged by a panzer's .30 cal when I didn't know he was firing at me. Same for ostys - There have been times when I thought that I was sneaking in for a nice divebombing run, only to have my wing torn off in one ping.

Post by: addy on March 03, 2003, 03:42:19 PM: When I see sunset, I grab my Lancs. This seems to be the only time the lancs can survive. Sure they still show up on radar, but at 20k at least I am outta icon range and you cant see my "dots" from the ground!! I like the night, just wish it was a little longer, maybe 30 minutes or so. It would give the perfect "theater" for the Lancasters to operate in and make them an effective weapon against strat targets. I also think at night there should be spot lights over cities/hq's/factors etc. Night is great for bombers but they shouldn't have a free reign, just a fighting chance

And I agree, upping a B-17 or lanc formation is a great way to pass the night, and you might even live to tell about it.

RESULTS 3/03/03

A: 10
B: 2
C: 17

29 reponses... still it's about 2:1 that will either adjust gamma or leave. Of the 10 that stay, at least 3 stated that they go to GV or field guns. One responded B or C and is not listed in the above tally.

Post by: Flossy on March 07, 2003, 11:53:22 AM: Usually A, sometimes B, but never C. Depends on the situation. I try and manage without upping the gamma, and usually succeed if I'm in a GV. But if I fly, the gamma gets turned up, especially during takeoffs and landings - or I have a habit of hitting humps in the ground. :)

Always keep flying here!!! I go to display properties (right click on desktop) , advanced tab, color correction, slide the GAMMA bar to the right until daylight is once again achieved. Kinda godly! hehe

Once the sun rises, reverse above steps.
