There is a little russian music group called Tatu that has this little video called "All the things she said". All I can say this video is the best video ever I won't spoil it for everyone but do please download it off Kazaa, you shall be pleased.... muahahahaha.
-
Phil Collins/Genesis "Land of Confusion".
Actually I don't know whatta heck is people seeing/hearing in those two... ehm... kids.
They cant sing, all they can do is play with themselves, play with publicity and shake their arses.
-
Tatu have been at number one for 4 weeks in the UK with that single.
They are quite a attractive in an ambiguous pseudo-lesbonic kind of way.
Staga, as a fan of Phil Collins, you lose any right to criticise any artist immediately and without appeal. :D

Whats not to love? Gone are the days of musicians... today we have entertainers, by God!
-
any video with "Falco" in it is automatically great.
-
Robert Palmer "Addicted To Love"
-
I saw those 2 little lesbos on TV a week or so ago, performing their little trick. They wont last long if they rely on one gimmick.

Maybe that's why their next single is simply titled 'Strap-on'.
-
that song has a definite 80's groove to it with the synthesizers.. I like it.. plus those two are little cuties..
gotta agree with Dago..if they have only one shtick it will burn out pretty quick.
-
Best music video was also one of the first...
Bob Dylan:Subterrainean Homesick Blues

Phil Colins was a member of one of the finest rock and roll bands ever assembled...
rock on Staga (but ignore that new Genesis crap, they went downhill after Trick of the Tail)

Compared to Abba, of course.

I remember the song but don't remember that video, but I do remember
Van Halen "Hot For Teacher"
There was also that song by the guy from Wham! where the supermodels were lip-synching to the song. Interesting concept.

I saw that video after I'd heard the song on the radio a couple of times. The song didn't match the video. I don't know who came up with that concept but it was horrible. What does a medieval traveling troubador have to do with Safety Dancing?
It was almost as bad as Pat Benatar's "Running With The Shadows Of The Night", which at least featured AT-6s painted in camo.
I was at a club restaurant a few months back, hanging with some dudes while waiting for a buddy to show up, and we were watching a tv on the wall while chowing on fish and beer. I noticed that most of the videos shown today aren't doing anything that wasn't done 20 years ago by Phil Collins, or The Cars, or Don Henley, or Def Lepard, and so forth. Even the rap videos are copycats of RUN DMC and LL Cool J. We then watched the next 8 videos and, yep, nothing that hasn't been done before. Only the faces and the songs have changed. Then we started talking about the best music videos and someone mentioned a Beastie Boys video that was done up like a '70s cop show. I've never seen it. Does it ring a bell?
-
Duran Duran rocked. Before my time though.

"Sabotage", from "License to Ill"

I'm surprised nobody has brought up "Mr. Bombastic" by Shaggy. It was in almost continuous play on the local cable tv video request channel

Yeah, they'd eventually have to do harder and more shocking things, like handcuffs and you know, all that stuff mommies have said to be a sin. What a shame...
NOOOOOOT! :D
-
gofaster I never said I liked the song, and I clearly stated why I liked the video (midgets I tell you midgets). Mocking threads is clearly a lost hobby.
Maybe Whip-It by Devo that was cool too.
Take on Me, forgot the artist
and there need to be more videos with monkeys...yes definately monkeys

A vote for two obscure videos most here have never seen: "Around the World" by Daft Punk and "Rabbit in your headlights" by UNKLE (performed by Tom Yorke of Radiohead)
Around the World is funny, Rabbit in your Headlights is extremely eerie.
Download both from Kazaa or whatever you use.
edit
oh and 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins, but maybe because it reminds me so much of my adolesence
-
Man you guys are forgetting Prodigy's "Smack My squeak Up" Was played on MTV once and only once. The video is shot in a POV perspective where the person is running around town, getting drunk, puking, getting in fights, going to strip clubs, having sex, and then the ending you see the camera pan over to a mirror to reveal who the person is. Quite a shocker.
2nd Best Video Ever....Van Halen "Dreams" awesome song set to a Blue Angels routine, with in plane footage Etc, etc.
Download em both if you can
-
Test tube baby :p
It's funny you say that, because I was born on the very same day as the first test tube baby, Louise Brown. 25th July 1978. :)
MiniD - I must have been 4 when Duran Duran were big. Still remember their music though, and for some reason one of my earliest memories is the music video to 'Rio'.
Animal - I found the Smashing Pumkins later stuff to be really morbid (apart from 'Circle of Love'?). Their earlier stuff was far better.

Thanks for the reminder.
Smack my squeak up is definetly the most diddlyed up video I have seen. And one of the coolest.
Definetly top 5.

Oh yeah pretty much every Radiohead video. Especially the one where his head is in a tube and it is filling with water, then it submerges his head while he is singing the chorus, about 30-40 secs. Or the one where the driverless car is chasing the old man down the street
-
Just downloaded smack my squeak, havent seen it in a few years
Golly-gee that video kicks ass
-
Do the evolution by pearl jam was great.
Though nothing compares with THE WALL from pink floyd ;)
-
You guys have it all wrong.
The best video ( and song for that matter)..... one that will NEVER be topped is....

I remember catching that video when they played it on MTV. It must've been around 1am. Imagine Kurt Loder's disclaimer along the lines of "Now this is definitely a controversial video, but worth seeing." Then we get full frontal nudity. Woohoo!
-
Yes, yes, that's all great, but this thread isn't about your favorite music video is about MINE DAMNIT!!!!
Now... go download the damned video, their pictures, and their live performance, yes those girls are naughty, with their wet T-shirts and tight panties.... and for that we say...God bless the japanese...don't ask me why but I do. :D

Best one... Tool... Sober.

Good video, however it kinda cheapend the original song. With lyrics like " I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this toejam, Blood, And Cum on My Hands" Ahh crap I just remembered that lyric is from "Prison Sex" Videos that are made for MTV and either bleep out the cuss words or change the lyrics do not hold true to the original song IMHO, and are therefor crap.
-
M&M eight mile was interesting. Bout when he first started rapping.
-
Haven't seen the video, but "Lose Yourself" sounds great... :)
-
I like Radiohead's video for 'Just'.
A man is shown lying down on his back on a sidewalk. It's a busy street, and one by one people are asking him if he's okay and asking why he's lying down. You can't hear them, just read the subtitles. He says he can't tell them why he's lying down. After a while a crowd gathers around him - all wondering why he's lying down like that. He finally tells them... but it's just then that the subtitles stop so you can't hear his answer. The final scene is the camera panning out from above, and the entire crowd is now lying down with him.

Faith No More Epic

I can't really think of a favourite video although The Beastie Boys 'Sabotage' was indeed hilarious!
Anyone remember a song with the lyrics 'Oh, So Horny' in the early 1990s? I think MTV would only show it after midnight.... ;)

That would be 2 Live Crew "Me So Horny" from the As Nasty As They Wanna Be album. If you remember this song/video/album sparked a HUGE 1st Amendment battle in you guessed it FLORIDA because some twit deemed the song "Obscene"
