There's just so many Bishops flying around in clusters that its easy to run up victories by flying through the bait ball.

And Bishops can't aim as well as Knights, either.

Yeah, Steve popped me the other day or day before when I was low and had just finished dispatching an enemy when his P-51 caught me in my target fixation mode. It was a lot like shooting a blind man. :cool:

I think that puts the score at Steve 7, GoFaster 0, since I've started. All of Steve's victories have been in a P-51D while I've been popped in a Yak, a couple of losses in a P-51, a P-38, a 190D, and a couple in 190A8s. I like to contribute a variety of parts to the AH aircraft junkyard. He hasn't caught me in a 109 yet so I'll have to fly that more often and give him the opportunity. ;)

And bring a mop next time you enter the arena. MrLars' urination skills are pathetic! :p

Sorry buddy..figures I was too late to save my teammate... I'm, old and have slow reflexes. I always wonder what my opponent hears when I lay a nice long stream of .50's into his plane and tons of hit sprites appear... I mean is it one big "clunk" or a series of them?

Post by: Ripsnort on March 05, 2003, 02:53:46 PM: I don't even look at country affiliation, I look to see where the action is, or lack of it (Hi Lazs!) and attack. If its red, its dead. Being a rook is not really much different from being a knight, except Rooks tend to attack the front lines where there is the least resistance. For instance, yesterday, knights have 8 fields left, Rooks twenty something, Bish 30 something...a handful or rooks were fighting Bish (who's number online was equivelent) yet rooks were hitting the lower numbered Knights as hard as they could even though it would have given the Bish the reset. (I might add that the Vets of AH knew where to focus attack, the ones hitting knights were primarily folks I didn't recognize by name) Other than that, it was hard to tell that VMF-323 even switched countries.

Specifically, in a Yak-9U, its Ping Ping PLUNK Tower. The Pings are the ammo through the elevators and the Plunk is the engine, which is always the first major component to fail no matter the angle of the shot. The workers of the world united and decided that they had nothing to lose but the engines.

You got that right been flying the P51 little more lately since got my convergences fixed in it, and every time I get shot radiatior is first to go.

Engine makes YakU a very vulnerable target, specially to .50s. First couple pings and engine gone. Then 1 minute, and you bite the dust with your dead stick :)

Yeah, the Yak must have an oil reservoir the size of a soup can. It seems that as soon as the engine is hit, I can't even make it out of the sector before the engine seizes (assuming its still turning after the pop).
