Ok, who can’t wait to get to work each day? Who has such a drive for their work that they can lose track of time when working?
Who can’t wait till the weekend, vacation, or the next holiday to escape work? Who finds work a duty to obtain a paycheck?
Which camp do you fall into, Passionate worker (1) or duty worker, (2)?
I am a 2. What are you?

I'm very thankful to have my job.... I really love it, and I'm pretty good at it. :)
I'm not too far from retirement though... its been a good ride, as they say.

I like my job, but its not my life.

When I worked for Thusty, definitely #1. In IS stuff, maybe a 1.5. I'd rather be at the beach tho'. I just need to get rich, quick. :)

definetely a 2.

I bounce around between 1 and 2, and in between.

1.5...just too hard to "love" being an accountant. Some of what I do is awesome, the rest is monotonous bs.
-
1.5 I guess, I enjoy my job when I am at work and enjoy being off when I can. Best pay I have ever made and the easiest job I've had in a long time.
-
what's a "weekend"?
-
1.5

even if your a 1, you still have a 2 inside, but you can be a 2 without a 1 inside
somedays a 1, other days a 2
-
Me? I like what I do. I'm good at it and its interesting to a point. I do not like where I do it, who I do it with or when I do it. I'm with the 2,222,222 guy.
I keep the sicktime/vacation time bean counters in business.

Some days, I am a 1
Then, there are the days when I deal with handsomehunk teachers and stupid parents. Those days, I am definitely a 2.
-
Ummm....I'm counting the days until I can leave my job....not sure, but think that makes me a 2 ;)
-
I'm in a van pool so I don't count..Well,I sleep for 35 minutes till work..

Hmm I think I need a third option. I am my own boss and I like my company, but I'd like to take a rest from it from time to time... I simply can't.

It would be a 1 if the bastards would have giving me the raise I wanted!
My job is hard, and somedays I want to run from the building Screaming!
But most of the time it is a fun job, and I am good at it.

I bounce between a 1 and 2 here at my day job. Day job is tech support/tester/network admin/computer admin yada yada job...meaning, small company, I take care of all the PCs, network and if any go boom, they plead for me to help them out. Bad part is I am paid as a Tech Support guy, so all the extra things I've done to streamline stuff hasn't reaped any rewards. Been here 4 years, last raise was 3 years ago. Bad part of a small company bought by a conglomerate is sometimes they forget to take care of the staff's needs. We've finally voiced our needs and hope we get something. Our division is very profitable, and the improvements I've made here are a good part of the success.
Since I hadn't seen any extra $$ coming from the day job, I took on an evening position at UPS 2 years ago. Finally burnt out on working 75 hours a week and gave my notice. Being Union wasnt much fun, yet then again, the management at UPS is their own worst enemy. Never worked for a company that was so lost in its own politics. Pay big bucks for a Union that is just never around, doesnt return calls and cries "we're shot handed". Then reduce the dues. Ooooh, I'm called a heretic now. Pffft. So, its time to let this go. Benefits were nice, not worth the stress and hassle. If I really want that, I'll take up watching soap operas and join a fan club.
Opps, I ranted. But I feel good :)
Point being, I don't mind the day job. I just wish there were rewards for going above and beyond.

Depends on the project. Corporate acquisitions get my adrenaline flowing for the two years they take to complete with full integration and would be a 1, day to day normal duties would be a 2. Last integration I put in over 400 hours overtime in 11 months, for a salary desk jockey that's a lot for no $$ or time off. But overall for the past 15 years here 1.5
