Ham n cheese over PBJ... but PBJ will most definitely suffice as it is easy as hell to make :)

Say, do they make pre-made and packaged PBJ sammiches out there?  Sounds like a good idea :)

Don't much care but I wanted to make the point that, since if you drop a jellied slice bread on a tank it will alway score a hit by landing jelly side down, the OBJ of the PBJ should be higher.

OK, although I can't get them here in Kalifornica easily...an authentic Philly Cheesesteak w/o the peppers...preferably from New Jersy.

That is my fav store bought sammy, at home my favorite would be a BLTTA on toasted Wheatnut bread, thin sliced hickory smoked bacon, corse ground mustard, mayo, sweet pickle relish, alfalfa sprouts, iceberg lettuce, thin sliced bermuda onion and pepperoncini with Mesquite and honey roasted turkey sliced 1/8 inch thick and Roma tomato.

A big Kosher Dill and regular Lays chips on the side.

Has to be a Hass avocado, none of them stringy, grainy Florida kind.

I'll make it a triple decker if I've got a Dagwood jones going on.

Foolish mortals!

How dare you argue over sandwiches when the one true perfect sandwich  is so easilly known?

Silence!

Title: Ode to PB&J
Post by: Mini D on March 06, 2003, 02:35:34 PM
Oh PB&J, there is no finer food
You are the sweet nectar of life stuffed in between two slices of wonderbread.

Oh PB&J, I'll not forsake you for another
As I browse through all the mysterious leftovers in the fridge, deep down I know that I'm really just looking for the jelly.

Oh PB&J, women will never understand
Not even after explaining for the 100th time to the wife that PB&J will be just fine in the lunch... no need for deli sandwiches.

Oh PB&J, I know you like no other food
I fondly reminisce every time I look at a jelly stain on a shirt. I remember when it happened and more importantly I remember what the PB&J sandwich I was eating at the time tasted like.

Oh PB&J, there is no finer food.

Turkey with honey mustard, cucumbers, and lettuce on wheat, with Baked Lays chips and a small Hi-C.  Best if eaten while reading the monthly issue of "Triathlete", "Volleyball", or "Runner's World".

PB&J on honey wheat if I'm lazy.

Meatball (easy on the sauce) on wheat if I'm not exercising that day.

PBnJ is the sandwich of choice at my place.

The best way to serve a good old PBnJ is make it with old fashion potatoe buns.   This adds alot of flavor.

PBnJs are great because they serve as emergency stores when you need to get in the air ASAP.   You can take off,  go Auto and quick make a couple up.    Then get back to flying quick.

I like a good Ham sandwich, But Iv always got PB on hand.

Roast Pork Italiano...

From "DeNofa's" or "Gooie Louie's"
Thin sliced Hot roasted pork in gravy, sauteed Broccoli reeb in garlic and Olive oil, crumbled provolone Cheese ( imported from Italy, the real stinky stuff) on a sesame toasted long roll ( scarzoni roll, only made in Philly)  then SMUTHERED in Hot sauteed long Italian peppers!!!!!!!!!!

FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From TGI Friday's
That or Hot roast beef , sauteed onions, Melted Finlanda swiss, served open faced on garlic bread.

From My fridge
Or Smoked turkey breast, Bacon, Provolone cheese, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, served on a croussant.

From The Ugly Mug in Cape May NJ
My favorite... Hamburger, topped with Shrimp salad and then a 1/4 inch slice of mozzerella cheese melted on top served on a poppy seed kaizer roll.

I have never liked pb&j.  I go for more complicated sandwiches. :)

Around Thanksgiving time:
Hot Turkey slices, stuffing, thin layer of turkey gravy and melted cheese on toasted bread (cranberry sauce optional)

Rest of the Year:
Tuna Salad with crispy bacon strips, mustard, lettuce and melted mozzarella on toasted bread. (Really, it tastes better than it sounds).

simple sandwich - Hard Italian salami and some fontina cheese on some good crusty bread with a quality mayo.....

Or a PB&J - I married the second Mrs. Tahgut because she knew that the J needed to outweigh the PB by 2 to 1.
