Oh, I hope not Laz.
I mean, yeah, he finally realized that moving 6 CV groups and 200,000 men into the theater and putting B-2's into Diego probably meant that there's going to actually be a war if Saddam doesn't disarm post-haste. So that bet is gone. I figured that was the true "easy money" too... like pickin' up a $20 on the sidewalk.
I still have hope on the chem/bio weapons bet though. I mean, after all, he's posted several times that there's no proof that Iraq has 'em right? So he must believe that.
But like the first example, there's enough evidence there if you look at it with an open mind. Odds are very much in my favor that the Iraqis have that stuff; otherwise there wouldn't be all this "inspection" hoo-hah with Blix saying they're not getting cooperation and he can't verify the anthrax and VX has been destroyed...... after 12 years of UN trying. So, I like the odds a lot.
Given that they have a few nutbags running their Republican Guard divisions, they'll probably hose off a few. Given there are 600 or so newmen going along, I think there'll be incontrovertible proof.
If not, once the Allies control the country, Blix and his inspectors will find all sorts of things.
So, all in all, a good wager for me I think.
I know 10Bears doesn't think there's any evidence of chem/bio, so obviously a good wager for him if he actually believes what he says here. And he must, right?
So, maybe he's just been busy. I'm still thinking he'll take this chem/bio bet.
