Whats the best game out there? Doesnt matter if its RPG, Flight Sim, FPS, etc.. Whats the game that got you into computer games?
What is an old game that U wish to see with 2003 graphics?
-
would love to see Ultima Underworld with modern grapics. And an update to System Shock would be groovin.
-
Leisure Suit Larry.
-
spongebob mario.
-
Elite
-
Rally Trophy with addons is my favorite right now.
The game that got me into computer games was probably Choplifter.
I'd really like to see an updated version of Longbow 2 or Earl Weaver Baseball.
-
damn funked.. thought the black helicopters came for you yesterday.
;)
-
An updated LB2 would rock! Had alot of fun with that one, specially having 2 people in the same bird. Was always fun to loop the -64D with a 'live' CP/G on board :D
-
Updated Darklands would be sweet. That game is 10 years old and still on my harddrive
-
I think Roman: Total War may be the best game ever, when it comes out. Gorgeous graphics and the Total War concept is my kind of thing.
Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin is simply awesome - would love to see that game have a similar look to RTW.
I'd love to see the original XCOM game revamped with 2003 graphics and have the Combat Mission 'you go - we go' combat model.
-
M1 tankplatoon 1 and 2
it's time for part 3

XCOM 4, been waiting a decade for it already...
PS: harpoon 4 as well.
-
I would have loved to see the Gunship! - Platoon! duo from Microprose. Too bad the first was dumbed down and the second axed. :(

The very best game I have is called "WW2 Battles of the South Pacific".
It is a strategic naval campaign simulator which when played in Campaign mode starts at the Battle of The Coral Sea. It incorporates all of the Order of Battle for both the Japanese and American fleets with historically accurate availiability for each side.
It was modem capable and a friend of mine played out the entire Pacific War a few times. Trouble was that it was an older game and when the forces got too large things would start to go wrong.
I wish they could update that one.

"Chuck Yeager's Air Combat" was my first PC game. Played it for hours on a 486DX2-66, then got "US Navy Fighters" because I wanted something more realistic. :p
-
the first game to get me into games was Aces Over Europe. :D
LB2 would be awsome if they redo the graphics!
-
XCOM 4, been waiting a decade for it already...
PS: harpoon 4 as well.
Saw, I have a feeling we'll be playing Harpoon 4 right about the time they release the next Duke Nukem 3D game :(
Bug, if you like the Tank Platoon series give Steel Beasts a shot.

Wow, didn't know there were so many X-COM fans out there. Didn't they call it UFO: Enemy Unknown on your side of the pond, Dowding?
X-COM and X-Wing were the two that got me into strategy games and "flight sims," respectively. I know, X-wing isn't really a flight sim, but it's the game that got me to spend my hard-earned lawn mowing money on a joystick. Love to see XCOM brought up to 2003 standards.
The one I can't wait for is Homeworld 2. Loved the first two, and this one looks light years beyond them.

OMG what an addiction..
Hasn't been this bad since first starting to play AW in '96
it's the only thing I want to do right now all else be DAMNED!!!
at work I'm reading the forums for it in between running around doing stuff..it's going to ruin me! :D
still looking fwd to black and white 2 and gopostal2 tho :)
-
the game that hooked me was the origanal red baron, then the aces colection (over the pacific, europe, of the deep).
I really got my moneys worth out of red baron 3d too. that was an awsome game . if they could have upgraded a few points instead of basicly dropping it after release I'd probably still be flying it today

Gravity Force for Amiga.
-
The original Civilization. Also the original Railroad Tycoon. I played those for years.
In addition, X-Wing, System Shock, Fallout, Planescape: Torment, and Rogue Spear/Rainbow Six.
And lest we forget the real golden oldies: Zorks I, II, and III, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and various other Infocom classics.

Can't say it's my favorite game of all time, but Homeworld certainly had the best cinematic feel to it...
The first part when the picture moves in to view the ship and the soundtrack with the woman singing... breathtaking.
Hmmm... maybe I oughta reload it and see if I can actually finish it... :)

F-19 Stealth Fighter caused me to fall in love with virtual reality. I can still imagine hiding from Su27's and doppler radars while sneaking along at 100 feet and 70 knots, full flaps.

3.) X-Wing
4.) Privateer

That's the one by MicroProse, right? I had the F-117 Nighthawk deviation, and also got F-15 Strike Eagle as part of the combo package. It was a pretty fun little game. Lots of ambiance for a sim with those simple SVGA graphics.

Another vote for Chuck Yeager's Air Combat
A couple of the Epyx Olympic games I played on my Commodore 64 were pretty cool, despite breaking numerous joysticks trying to make the required motions (peddling, for example) to win.
What? No votes for a new version of the Atari E.T. game? LOL...I heard they had so many that didn't sell, they had to bury them...then unbury due to being hazardous waste (?)....

F19 Stealth Fighter, Still got it somewhere, 2 5 1/4" floppys. Yup, "Threading the Needle" missions were the Dogs Bo****ks. I remember thinking "Can it ever get more realistic than this"
Also "Gato" A Submarine sim - Still on the lookout for this one. and "Bugs" a stratagy game but using insects, Ants as infantry, Hornets as fighters, Moths as Transports, bees as bombers. Each had it's own strengths & weaknesses and the battles were set in different house/garden locations, sounds crap but better than C&C IMO.
