The "what-if" planes (as I call them) are the ONE thing which has NOT been done by AH's competition. It's something new, a niche for AH.

If we get a Bearcat does that mean we could get a Kikka or a Shinden too?
Just curious is all.

(Adding to Mr. T's {SW's} comment)
Or at the very least the A7M2, of which there were production aircraft.
Personally, at this point I'd like to see more non-perk aircraft because I find that I cannot enjoy using them at their current cost (except the F4U-1C, which I could enjoy as far as the price goes, just not as far as the aircraft goes).

According to one book: "Great Book of WWII Airplanes", only 8 prototypes were created before serious material shortages, allied bombing and a destructive earthquake prevented more from being completed.
Of course I'm not saying we should NOT get the A7M2 (looks very nice), just I'd like to know what source you are using Karnak. Also, what do you think about the J2M3 Raiden? 470 models were built, but do you think it would be deemed a "perk" plane because of it's speed and climb (but short duration..)?
I'm interested in seeing more "never before modelled" Japanese planes.

The jack would be a great plane to add. "Raiden"

SW,
I have used various sources (I'm at work so I don't have my books available) but all of the list from 1 to 7 production A7M2's in addition to the prototypes. As far as I know the A7M2 never saw combat.
As far as the J2M3 goes, I think it should be added but I don't think it should be a perk. It isn't that fast and it doesn't climb that well. The only Japanese plane that had production airframes that would be a perk is the A7M2. The Ki84 might qualify as a perk, but maybe not as well.

I'd realy like a b25-H w/ the 75mm nose cannon (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Nothing like a NOE b25-h run, popping up 5 miles to target and showering it w/ HE rounds.

if allies get the what if planes then so should axis.
In which case the LW should alays have the best aircraft.Something rarely seen in AH.
In the hole time ive been playing AH ive only once felt i had a superior model and that was the dora.
F8f? p51H? etc etc are not in service during the 2nd world war so i dont see why we should see them before all the ones that did fly.
make AH a fantasy game and i think people will leave in droves.Me included (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
then again if they cost an absolute fortune in perks? ell maybe id stay (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) hehe
my vote? NO after WW2 types please.

I dont think people will leave in droves if late war aircraft were added and somehow enhanced the enjoyment of the game.
I'm not that great no matter what plane I'm in but it's more interesting to see something different then the 'other' sim.
(but finishing off earlywar planeset is more important for scenarios, which I like more then anything and a lot of others do, too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) )

More twins... Beaufighter, Mosquito, Whirlwind, BF-110 and so on :-)

You're smoking something again. These are things that have been debated endlessly and are far from being answered in a single, absolute line. Also note that the Axis aircraft were being discussed. Japan WAS also an Axis nation.
Hazed-,
Tell me, when the Spitfire F.MkXIVc entered RAF service on January 3rd, 1944, what did the Luftwaffe have that was a better air-to-air fighter? We're not talking about August when the Fw190D-9 entered service or October when the Me262 entered service, we're talking about January.
Vulcan,
I agree. Please join me in my efforts to get HTC to add the Mosquito FB.MkVI Series 2 in v1.08. Note my signature. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I was merely posting info on the Japanese aircraft being discussed. I think the J2M3 Raiden "Jack" and Ki84 Hayate "Frank" should both be added. The A7M2 Reppu "Sam" might make a good Japanese perk plane as there were, single digit, wartime production numbers.

S!
IMO we don't need any "last weeks of WW2/1946" planes yet when the the current planeset is missing some types that were in use with success before these monsters even left the ground for test flights.
It is a bad/stupid thing to compare, but IMO WB has a slightly better planeset already than AH and more is added to WB3.There is now planes from early/mid/late war era. Also a bigger variety of bombers and the LW even has the Ju52 for troops!
So..why don't get more planes that were used in great numbers/success and add the monsters as EXPENSIVE perks later,or even have a new arena for them?Just my 2 cents,so don't flame me to death here (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) *wears asbestos suit*

I too love the Bearcat but I think the game needs more early-war aircraft. However, I fear that I wouldn't really be able to fly my Wildcat, Hurricane or Warhawk because I'd be at a severe disadvantage with everyone else flying N1ks, FW's and others.
