There seems to be some confusion over what was meant by "you can no longer collide with ground clutter".

Means trees & rocks are not instantly fatal to your perked Tiger tank.
-
You will no long die if you hit for example the little white rocks on the pizza map.
-
No not that part. The part about when flying not hitting clutter and what clutter is defined as. Read the other threads on this and you'll see what I mean.

I tested it out tonight, you can fly through trees and other ground clutter, but if you hit buildings in a plane, parts fall off your plane. GVs will just come to a stop when they hit buildings.

Yes, I tried going full speed in an Osty towards a tree - and passed straight through it. If its the same way with the boulders in the pizza terrain, it is very disappointing. :(

Not too keen on this new feature either, was cool being able to hide amongst trees and the such like and have a/c auger trying to strafe.
I always had clutter on, does that mean that some turned it off and had an advantage, for example when I thought I was behind a tree for protection, did the other GV just turn it off ?

Not originally..... but now they are clutter and can be turned off....

I dont think the trees offered protection before at any but very close range? Sometimes I could hit an enemy better when far away, if i got close then trees would appear and block my bullets.
This new update has helped my frame rate quite a bit.

Repost from the other thread:
I was driving a panzer towards an enemy base this evening, a friendly was driving along with me. Now I'm weaving in and out of the trees cos it's kinda thick forest.
unidentified friendly "What are you doing?"
Me "avoiding the trees."
unidentified friendly "Why?"
Me "Cos if I hit one I'll stop and have to back out of it and get moving again."
unidentified friendly "Dude, just turn the clutter off."
Me :-/
bye bye immersion.

another repost but oh well:
What would be the perfect solution would be to have trees and rocks and all the other kinds of clutter that tanks and planes used to blow up on now act as a stopper.
Forget clutter, lets have planes stopping when they hit a tree or a rock like GVs are supposed to now. Ok, you wont blow up from the tree anymore, but hitting the ground after you've hit the tree is a different matter and with zero airspeed you're definately going to hit the ground. Oh and disable the ability to turn em off.
Problem solved. GVs still no longer blow up on trees, planes still gotta avoid trees cos death will probably result in hitting one......and just occasionally we'll get a cool story on the BBS about someone who hit a tree and survived somehow.

It means that you can't collide with ground clutter. Ground clutter being stuff like trees, rocks, bushes, sheep, etc. It basically works like it did in older versions of AH.
The reason it was changed to that was not because of the vehicle collisions, however. Allowing people to turn it of is a short-term remedy to an inherent problem with the system. I wouldn't worry about it though because AH2 will make it irrelevant.
