with putting plastic sheeting on our windows , having our nail files confiscated by the feds at the airport and registering users of model rockets, ..maybe we have already lost?

hopefully funkeup is only trying to be humorous.  We dont want to hurt our many friends in the Arab and Islamic worlds; we just want to deal with those relatively few actively conspiring to harm us and our allies, and to discourage anyone else who might be considering this course of action.

logically there cant be no exit strategy in a war without end.

Let me get this straight, if we lose the war against TERRORISM, suddenly there will be Mosques in New York?  And women will wear coverings over their faces?  So, you're saying that muslim=terrorist?

war been declared on the united states, why should we sit idly by while they plan on taking us down?

Chairboy, no, the post is being broadly and exaggeratedly humorous as to the consequences of a loss in this war.  The terrorists are no more typical of folllowers of Islam than the Ku Klux Klan was typical of all white American Protestants.  But we must be careful not to let this war be cast as one against Islam, because it is not.

I don't consider it winnable.

I do consider it, dealing with reality.  Terrorism in america, or that affects american interests, is a reality that cannot ever be "won" against, unless you brainwash the entire world.  There will always be extremists who disagree with us and are willing to die to prove theri point.  

This war will have no end.  I'm fine with that.  Better than ignoring the problem.

Sure its winnable.  We do our best to win a "nice" war by following all the rules (we may or we may not win).  And if we don't, eventually we get sick of the toejam, and do everything that it takes to win.  Everything.
