This is an idea I saw someone type on channel 1 the other night.
"We need to be able to dismount from GVs and scout ahead"
What a great idea! It would be great if a player could stop his GV and dismount so that a scout (the player as a soldier) could walk ahead to peer over the top of a hill, or around the corner from a building.

and let us 'unbutton/turn out' from our tank.
That little slit isn't enough at times

You can get an unbuttoned view in the panzer by raising your head position all the way and moving it forward some.
Can't do it in the tiger though.

i've thought this would be a great idea for a while, especially on pizza map,it would be nice to park the vehicle and crawl around the corner to make a visual inspection of the situation :)

Why not just get in the pintle gun and look around? You can steer with your rudders from that position. Thats what I do, and as soon as I spot an enemy, I jump back into the main gun and blast away.

There are some occasions where getting out and looking is better.
For example
1. There is an enemy Tiger around the next corner of a hill but you don't know exactly where. He has the corner spot zeroed in for firing. If you drive your GV up to where you can see, he will probably nail you before you get a chance to find him, or if you do find him, you might not have enough time to sight him in before he gets the shot.
If you could dismount and walk up to that corner instead, you could look about, find him, and maybe see a way to flank him for a shot.

Wait till you see someone dismount from their Tiger, then YOU dismount from your lil ol' M-16 and go steal it. :D

There are no 'soldiers' in this game. As for knowing 'what's around the corner' that's what aerial recon / ground support is for. The only problem is lack of "team" working together in this game...
