I hope it will be just for pleasure rather than business.

Well it sure is purty but given the make and the round I doubt the scope will be of much use :D
WTG....the sound of gunfire is almost as useful as the bullits themselves....hehe

This is a Hogue OverMolded stock - fiberglass/nylon covered with special rubber. It sells for about $50-60 but I got in on sale at Midway.com for abour $33 or so.
I cut the stock down by 3/4" (after this photo was taken) and installed an M-16 buttpad assembly with a trapdoor in place of a soft rubber buttpad, since rubber was too "catchy" on clothes and recoil is not a problem with .223. It took me few hours of grinding and fitting but now I have a place for that bottle of vodka. :)
I also installed the front sling swivel stud so I can use quick-detach slings and/or install a bipod and remove the sling swivel loop from the gas block.
rc51 - Wow!

I'm assuming thats a ranch rifle version. I'd mount a scope on mine, but its an older model and I have to remove the rear sight to do it.
I think I'll leave it the way it is. But I like the stock, looks much better than the wood.

I'm in the market to buy a ss mini 30......... to match my 7mm Mag.

No, that's a regular version. If you look carefully at the picture of the buttplate, you'll see the permanent semi-protected rear sight (with narrow factory apperture plate replaced with XS Ghost Ring insert) rather than flimsy flip-up Ranch rear sight.
Also, from the side-mounted scope and no scope mount points on the receiver.
This is a (para)military rifle to be used at short to medium distances under 250 yards against human-sized targets, not for shooting tiny peacefull critters at 400+ yards. The simplicity and situation awareness of the iron sight cannot be beat - especially for a non-professional.
I did buy a cheap 4x scope with integral mount but it a see-through that allows to use the iron sights and can be removed/installed in seconds without tools. I certainly not going to practice more than 5% of the time shooting with the scope.
Even with accurising the semi-auto Mini is by no means a sniper weapon. With $300 worth of improvements it will never shoot as well as a $700 Remington 700 VS - based system.

I'd probably go with that caliber too except it is only available in Ranch configuration and comes with scope rings, which would be a waste of money for me. I do not want a rear sight that may fall off in the most inopportune moment. It's a bit harder to shoot accurately due to the lower speed of 7.62x39 compared to .223 but the dirt-cheap ammo would amply compencate by allowing more practice.
It is more versatile, allows one to hunt deer-sized animals, etc.

Where can I get one of those mounts?

Mini-14 Scope with Mount http://www.cabelas.com IC-711043 $69.99 Mini-14 Scope with Mount (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jhtml;jsessionid=55IZZ3Q3HZUKOCWQNVECFFAK0BWUOIV0?id=0012777711043a&navAction=push&navCount=4&indexId=cat20803&podId=0012777&catalogCode=IC&parentId=cat20803&parentType=index&rid=&_requestid=23623)
You'll need to do some filing on the mount to fit the mount into the receiver since it has some excess metal to account for loose tolerances in Mini manufacture.
I'd also recommend the Ciener 22lr conversion kit that allows to shoot 22lr from Mini-14. Since the caliber is the same, the barrel change is not required. Installs in minutes. That'd allow you to shoot it at pistol ranges that only permit 22 rifles or in your basement with a bullet trap, if you are not afraid of led contamination. http://www.brownells.com 204-014-011 Mini-14 .22 LR Conversion $129.00
Type A for older and B for newer Mini models.
