3rd Marines is rolling towards it objective (baghdad?). Bound to see some tank-to-tank action shortly. Cross your fingers.
-
Nothing on CNN yet... link?
-
Fox News. The correspondent with the 3rd marines was talking, there was a bunch of screaming in the background, and he said "I gotta go, were moving out".

Got your kleenex at the ready?
"Let's go diddly their skulls!"
-
I meant cross your fingers as in 'wish our troops good luck'.
-
i hope our boys all come home safe...
-
Fair enough. I just don't like to see voyeurism when people are about to die.
-
Funny, it struck me instantly as best wishes for the troops and minimal loss of life/damage for both sides.
I think we're ALL hoping the Iraqi's will not fight for Saddam. It may be a forlorn hope, but it is certainly my hope.
Dowding, you immediately took it the other way, eh?
-
Marines have started M109 Paladin artillery barage. On FOX news now.
-
I think Fox coverage is much better than CNN, and they seem to get information faster and more accurately.
-
1st Marine Unit taking artillery fire now.

A timely reminder for all glued to their sets:
So here's a thumbnail list of how to watch out for mendacity and propaganda on your screen once Gulf War Two (or Three if you include the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq conflict) begins. You should suspect the following:
Reporters who wear items of American or British military costume – helmets, camouflage jackets, weapons, etc.
Reporters who say "we" when they are referring to the US or British military unit in which they are "embedded".
Those who use the words "collateral damage" instead of "dead civilians".
Those who commence answering questions with the words: "Well, of course, because of military security I can't divulge..." Those who, reporting from the Iraqi side, insist on referring to the Iraqi population as "his" (ie Saddam's) people.
Journalists in Baghdad who refer to "what the Americans describe as Saddam Hussein's human rights abuses" – rather than the plain and simple torture we all know Saddam practices.
Journalists reporting from either side who use the god-awful and creepy phrase "officials say" without naming, quite specifically, who these often lying "officials" are.

Is there a link I can get a Fox radio/TV stream from?
Dowding, stop insulting others by assuming they want to see blood.
-
Getting confused here. Sometimes the woman on FOX news refers to a unit as 3rd Infantry (which I assume is ARMY), but then she refers to it as 3rd Marines. Are these the same things?

Silver-spooned upbringing most likely...hows college Dowding? Be thankful its paid for, some of us had to pay for our own, son.
-
Do kindly diddly off, Ripsnort. I paid my own way through college and have the debts to prove it. I've had a job for three years since graduating.
Silver spooned? Bwahahahaha. I'm from Sheffield - steel city of England and lived in Barnsley - built on one of biggest coalfields in Britain. My father worked at a coking plant, my uncles worked down the pit.
Silver spooned? Oh my god, that is good. No, it really is.
Toad - I seemed to remember this guy asking for combat footage and starting several threads of that ilk. I assumed this was another one. Ever made any mistakes yourself?

No
3rd Infantry Division is Army
3rd Marine Regiment is USMC, part of 3rd Marine Division.
-
Enough with the personal attacks PLEASE
-
david last night they said that the US was striking south of Iraq
(I'm sure they meant south of baghdad)
so don't take anything too literally, those folks are a bit exciteable.
