Ummm what do you think this board is for!  Most of the people here have "dated" Fatty several times.  He's all used up now.  He can barely even fart properly.

Actually, since I know Jenga has no internet access right now:

There's was Debbie from Cleveland, Ellie from Wolverhampton and the big fat one from Barmouth (didnt stop long enough to catch her real name).

Been there, done that....met some nice people...and met some real brain dead ones too (so there's hope for the FDB's  :D )..

Yahoo Personals:  Bad.  Mostly disguised ads for adult sites.  See one you think you like.  Get a response, and its "Click here to goto my webcam site" etc.  Don't get me wrong, there are some real people in there, and Ive met some nice ones there.  But I've never encountered as much fraud as I have with Yahoo.  They are unresponsive at reporting bogus ads.

Match.Com is very well run.  I've had some really good responses and even found some old school friends lurking around in there.  If i were to subscribe to one service again, it would be this one.

Kiss.Com is also pretty good but doesn't have many from my area.

HotOrNot is interesting.  At $6, its fun.  My first day there I had a few emails already.  It requires a photo.

And again, the real important thing is what you are looking for.  If you post a photo, you get more replies.  What's funny is how many girls post pics that look awesome....but that was PRIOR to the "pregnant with triplets" or that "horrible head on with a steam roller" etc.  If a lady doesnt have a photo and begins to describe herself, as you mental draw her, make sure to add 100 pounds when they say "great personality"....

If you are utterly cheap and a player, wander into the Yahoo Chat rooms.  Have a profile pic and flirt away:

Yeah I used match.com for a while, only dated the girls with pics...things went great until the actual date where there pic was...um....how shall I say....off.

Won't do it anymore, but match.com is prolly the best due to the amount of people on.

LePaul, I have seen many people I know on it some I had dated previously...pretty funny.

Had some internet sponsored fun and 1 serious relationship that I met on excite personals before it was match.com.   Actualy lived with the girl for a while in Reno Nv, and Corvalis Or.  Then she dumped me for a 4th year med student at U Of O.      Dam redheads, great sex, but will burn you first chance they get.

About 5 years ago a friend (nukem26 on AH) called me and said "You interested in a road trip?"  (Interesting times always start this way)  I had just driven back home from Sacramento and said "Sure, anywhere but Sac,"  He said "Ok, how's Las Vegas?"  Me: "Why?"  Him: "Its an 8 hr drive, Ill explain on the way, has to do with a redhead and a brunett."   Turns out we went down there for a birthday party, came home 5 days later very physicaly worn out.  Took me 2 months to pay off the $550 bar tab at TGIF.  But it was well worth it.

online dating:  scarey

been there, tried that...

let's see..

there was the former cocktail waitress...hadn't cleaned her apartment in about 2 years (told me vacuum was broken) and I asked her where my date was.. she said she was.. then proceeded to show me pictures from when she was a cocktail waitress (14 years ago).. woah...

there was the single mom...  knocking on my door (with child in tow) at 3am, took a court order to stop that one...

I ran far far away after that.

from then on it was 'in person' or not at all

I figure online dating is like any other.  There's good , there's bad, and you sometimes meet total freaks !!

Actually a buddy of mine (co-worker) met his current wife in the personals (I think it was match.com) and she's really sweet and a hot little gal.  True she had a kid, but hell at the age of 28 what do you expect?

Honestly, think about how many wierdo's and freaks you meet at the average bar, week to week?

It's no different than sleezing around bars.

But get a picture.

I dated my last girl, Dori for five months online.

But then again I'm not exactly normal.

Kate's the other girl.

Well said.  I don't know where the "cool" spots are and bars havent ever been my thing.  I mean, how the hell do you know if the hottie you are eyeing is looking, or just taking a break from her hubby and having a night out with the girls?  The OnLine Personals allow you to state what your looking for,etc...and with any luck, you can link up with someone that has similar interests.

Im 33, as is a friend of mine.  Neither of us has been married or has kids, so we kinda chuckle that every chick we've met or dated is "used"...having had a kiddo or two.  Kids arent a big deal to me but I would like to make one someday...most have had their one and want no more, tubes are tied, etc.

Vulcan:  Wow....I'm above the age limit..but WOW.

Sundiver:  She have cute single friends??  :p

lol, gotta love some of the posts in this one!  ;)

seriously though, I've met and umm, known, 3 women from various online endeavors.  2 over ICQ, and one, interestingly enough, on a message board for UO.  She turned out to be pretty damn cute.  ;)  Pretty damn good in other things as well, but it didn't work out in the end.  Then again, the guy she ended up marrying didn't work out either.  She just left him.  :(  There were a few others I met from online that were not cute (and like others have said, I don't trust anything without a picture, and even then I am wary.  Webcams where they are live are about the best online proof of what they look like!)

Of course, I'm nothing special to look at, so I guess I shouldn't complain!  ;)

No personal experience with it but I have three friends who have met via the internet and married those same people. Personally I never would have and don't think I could try something online like that. Too many psycho people out there.

I gotta meet people up close and personal and even if she is out on the town with her friends for a night then she should not tell me about it till the next morning. Although my wife might take a dim view of that behaviour... ;) But after 7.5 years I don't think I will be heading out looking to bag some strange...Looking at it on the beach will not get you in serious trouble. Ask my wife; we both critique other women on the beach. Hell she even asked me once if I would have tried to bag one if I was not married. I of course answered;  "NO!!! What kind of fool do you think I am; you could catch some disease from strange women like that. :D"

true story... At work someone was showing me the match.com site after hearing about it on the radio..put a free add in match.com after reading all the crap the guys wrote about liking candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach... chick flicks and poetry....

I wrote "looking for a man to ruin your life?" I then proceeded to give my views on liberals... ending womens sufferage and explaining that a really good relationship consisted of spending the weekend in bed and then not seeing each other for a week.

I was kinda shocked by the responses... dozens emailed me with reasons why i would be the last person on earth they would normally talk to and gave me their phone number..  we usually met at my house and they spent the night.   I have been with one of em now for a year.  Very nice lady... we get along fine.

My cousin married a girl he met online.  That lasted for a year or so. Then he found out she was meeting with other guys she was meeting on the net and that fling ended.

I felt bad for him. He had it bad for her. But it was for the better, I guess. He ended up with one of my wifes friends and they get along great.

Not to flame anyone...but I can't see the need to hook up with someone over the net. Every city or town I can think of has both men and women. And there has to be good one running around.

pretty interesting lazs
and it illustrates something that, I think it was Animal, said and I agree with...

not only do 'nice guys' finish last, but a lot of women like the bad-boy thing...

but I think you got lucky in the web-date thing also...
I have to agree with squelch now days.  Plenty of women everywhere ;)

yep... plenty out there..  anyone who has seen me knows I'm no pretty boy.  Even so... if you are coherant and solvent then you will do ok.   I was not looking for anyone at the time and did the add as a joke.   I ran into some interesting women.

women have told me that they like men that have had... er... "interesting" pasts... I got the scars and tatoos to prove it.

On that note... it really doesn't matter where I meet women... I choose poorly.
