(turning blue... where's sandy!??)

It's called freedom of speech, didn't know much about it between 1933-1945, our big friend brought it to us, THX :)
Regards Blitz
America was threatened by Iraq in no way , it was just plain ridiculous, it's a classic 'Angriffskrieg'
-
This is a private bbs blitz, freedom doesnt exist. Its up to the owners to decide how much "liberty" they allow.
I dont see how you could think "freedom of speech" could apply to this bbs especially since you are from a country where this "freedom" limited.
No Germoney doesnt have freedom of speech so dont claim you do. Theres plenty of things that can be said in the US that cant be said in your country.
Hell, in France its illegal to insult their President.

No it's not.
It's illegal for the press to insult the President.
-
As legal as in the USA.
Slandering (Diffamation) is another thing.
-
Let's hear it....."Martlet, you were right, I was wrong".
You just wish you had half the freedom American's have.

I just did. Your turn.

Never heard of this law, never heard of any usage of this law.
Sorry Martlet I didn't know about this law.
The reference about de Gaulle remind me one of his famous words :
a guy in the crowd yell to de Gaulle :"Mort aux con" (I'll translate this by "death to the ****/SOB")
de Gaulle answered :"Vaste programme" ("vast program"/"huge task" I think ...)

It's been on the books since 1881, I think. I don't know the history of it, but it is still enforced. I think it was originally placed to stop the French territories from talking smack. I can't imagine it will be around much longer, though. As much as I dislike your current gov't, the people aren't dumb enough to put up with that, I hope.

Hortland, you post deleter!!!
:)
-
Yeah, but Straffo posted just before me, and then it looked as if I was giving him support or something outrageous like that. So I just deleted my 'lil smile there.
(I was smiling at your post to gszholts and how it shut him up in like 2 seconds.)

got the text right now :
http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/WAspad/Visu?cid=20255&indice=1&table=CONSOLIDE&ligneDeb=1
you are right :
CHAPITRE IV : DES CRIMES ET DELITS COMMIS PAR LA VOIE DE LA PRESSE OU PAR TOUT AUTRE MOYEN DE PUBLICATION.
Paragraphe 1er : Provocation aux crimes et délits.
Article 23
Modifié par Loi 85-1317 1985-12-13 art. 18-I JORF 24 décembre 1985.
you can insult the president but it would be handy to have 45000 € in cash :D

"Proposed new city rules"
try again
-
The fact that a law exist doesnt mean an automatic usage.
Otherwise those would apply :
- No horses are allowed into Fountain Inn unless they are wearing pants.
- It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep in a cheese factory.
- Movies that show police officers being struck, beaten, or treated in an offensive manner are forbidden.
- If there are more than 5 Native Americans on your property you may shoot them.
hehe :D
this one should be old too :
No pig may be addressed as Napoleon by its owner.
rotfl :)

We got rid of that commie bastard. Not before he sold out secrets to our enemies and made a mockery of our nation .

Hey there's another one - you can stand as many times as you want to lead your country. :D
What a silly game.

Questioned for threatening the President is far different than being fined for calling him a harlot.
The fact that a law exist doesnt mean an automatic usage.
It was actually used or tried to be used recently. Do a news search. That's how I found recent uses before I used it as a rebuttal.
At least we can still take the bus here, even if we're poor and haven't taken a shower.
A proposed city ordinance that doesn't take away freedoms, but protects them is hardly along the lines of this discussion. You said you were going to match me. Still your turn.

I can put a pile of dog crap in a sandwich bag. It's pretty safe. Not because it isn't drawing attention, but because noone wants it.
