USS Carronade IFS-1
(Inderect Fire Support Ship One)

The Inshore Fire Support Ship (IFS) was purpose built to provide direct naval gunfire support to amphibious landings or operations close to shore. USS Carronade (IFS1) was armed two twin 40mm anti-aircraft mounts (mounted fore and aft of the superstructure) one 5?/38 caliber dual-purpose cannon and eight twin 5? automatic rocket launchers. Each launcher was capable of firing thirty spin-stabilized rockets per minute. Commissioned in May 1955, the Carronade arrived to late to assist with the Korean War, and was subsequently decommissioned and placed in reserve in May of 1960. In 1965 the Carronade was re-commissioned and redesignated LFR1 on 1 January 1969. During the Vietnam War, Carronade served as the Flagship of Inshore Fire Support Division 93 (IFSDIV93), working alongside the USS Clarion River (LFR-409), USS St. Francis River (LFR-525) and USS White River (LFR-536.) Decommissioned in 1969, the Carronade was stricken from the Naval Register in 1973.

Fridaddy  got it I think Revell made the model.

You win the decommissioned warship of your choice (USS Missouri excepted).  Take this email to:  Office of Decommissioned Warship Distribution.  U.S. Government  and Hitech employees and their families are ineligible.  Taxes on prizes are winners responsibility.  Void in Quebec for some reason :)
