Another thing we're planning to do with terrains in the main arena is to change the way we rotate them. Instead of rotating them through at the end of the tour, they'll be rotated when the war is won. This will allow us to have more terrains in the rotation and keep things changing often. It will also allow us to experiment with different terrains more easily. This probably won't be in place with the 1.07 release but should be enabled sometime during the period that 1.07 is the active version
I like this idea! And that sounds like we will be getting more terrains to try out. Dont like the current terrain you say? Well you arnent stuck with it for a whole month (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Yeah! A lot.

Its the reference to "experimenting" which sounds promising.
New user terrains will loft the MA into a whole different feel/level altogether.
...which is a GOOD thing btw.
-
We're also making some of the AA guns player controlled like the ones on the ships. Certain bases will also have fortified heavy artillery nearby for fleet defense.
Now this is good news!
-
Great news about stuff we already know [rolleyes], when is it freakin coming out thats what we care to know?

The biggest improvement (besides my beautiful 47D-11) will be the separation and changing of the fighter hangars. This will make it much more difficult to destroy a fields fighter hangars with a single buff. I like it.
And AG, we didn't know some of this, had no idea about the terrain rolling, the manable acks, the field changes, etc. This is all information I'm glad to have. When it's coming is pretty much irrelevent. It's inevitable. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

I do have a question though.
What happens when I'm flying along in my Jug and the reset happens and the map changes? Does my sortie end? Does the map change while I'm still in the air?

Well I am counting my days down for internet connectivity 3 weeks to be exact. As far as what he posted well alot was discussed in MA about some of these features. So basically it is just that, a wet the appetite keep everyone on their toes and interest high kinda post.
And I to am curious about the rotating map/WTF happens to my perk plane in flight (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I think as soon as a reset happens, a solar eclipse could be modeled. You look out your canopy, suddenly there is the moon crossing the sun! Within 5 minutes, everything goes black and the stars come out. Then, this mysterious aurora appears in the sky, coming closer to you, like in that movie "The Final Countdown" where the Nimitz got sent back in time to WW2 (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) The aurora gets closer and closer to you, then a flash. Your airplane spins, your gauges tumbling and spinning wildly. A swirly "Time Tunnel" appears in front of you sucking you in.
Then POW! Your cruising along at 10k in a clear sunny sky in a strange mysterious world. Wait, there's an airfield below! Is it friendly? Hostile? Will the people I meet when I land even be human?
Would do great things for the immersion factor I think. Plus, going on the "Hollywood writers are never revisionist" theory, it would add realism. After all, the Philadelphia Experiment was based on a true story....

Leph, all flights will terminate at the reset with the sortie being counted as landed.

And you post such a stellar response as well (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Read my above post might explain why I posted that. But then again like the others read what you want to and not whats always between the lines.

If history shows us anything, we know that within two weeks of getting the report "Such and such is done" we get a new version. 1.07 will be here shortly, take heart.
Damn skippy, Mighty1. Bring that CV into the base, place our fighters under the CV ack umbrella.
Go on. I dare ya!

Ow, that's gonna leave a mark. As I overheard in a bar once (re:reading between the lines) : "Boy, you ain't gotta dig through the poop to find out if there's any corn in it. There probably is, but it's still poop." Many, many expletives deleted of course.

Cool, so now I'm likely to get at least a couple landings per month.
-
Well I for one am very happy to see this change in reset handling. While its funny as hell when its the other guys, there isnt anything pleasurable about having your squad on the runway for a strike when the reset occurs....POOF....the base you were on is suddenly an NME base and the ack starts having fun.

News sounds great.
Now the players who don't like whatever map they are on will have a reason to drive for a reset.
I especially like the "Reset causes all active missions to be landed" change. That will kill two birds with one stone.

There is sometimes justice in the arena reset as it is now.
I remember the bish had about half the map and the rooks were down to two fields (one was A9). Basically, most of the knights seemed to be bent on capturing A9, handing the reset to... the Bish.
A handful of use were fighting up north against the bish when A9 was finally taken by us. And the Bish won.
Suddenly the 30 Knights around A9 are stranded about 250 miles from the nearest friendly base, while the handful up north were a mere 25 miles from safety.
