Title: mission planning.

If AW3 was any indicator of consequences of surprise missions, then I would have to say that the ability to produce and save missions for circumstances that develop in the course of a day's plan of action provides a great stimulus to be on top of the game .It creates a keen interest in being a squad mate,to be able to fulfil these missions. It doesnt feed the need for a half hour of blasting, but provides for a longer duration of satisfaction and comradery. For instance,a few squadies might develop a penchant for surprise torp missions...which means adequate carrier movement and strategic spotting, along with critical waypoint planning, for successful fleet interception. This couldnt occur with AI developing a plan, because the surprise element is gone. This is only an example, but ultimately, the mission plan flexibility develops a long term strategy on its own...punch for counter punch.I could see rank being gained by being an OPs officer or strategian...based on how many log in on a mission, and how many victories are achieved in total while on a mission. Also, the whole group in a mission could advance in rank or accreditation, based on the same success.
