Title: Now that`s what I call "imperialist"
Post by: devious on March 24, 2003, 12:09:12 PM
Cited from cnn, concerning the burning oil fields in Iraq:

"Now can you imagine an Iraq with a secular," (Saddam`s ain`t much religious), "democratic" (by whose standarts), "grateful regime....", "... there`s billions of dollars in this for Iraq and foreign contractors once it rises to compete with Saudi Arabia, whose relations with the US have cooled down since September the 11th"

I say, annex the place right there. WTG USA !

Shouldn't you be eliminating a race of people and invading your neighbors or something?

If we do decide to annex Iraq, perhaps your government can offer some advice on the proper protocol for doing so, considering your vast experience with such procedures.

yes , it's terrible how much money france, germany and russia will lose now that their "oil for weapons" deal with saddam is over.

it's not personal, it's just business.

The question is m. Target, why DID you sleep when knowing what could result? ;)

Drink more coffee, many people have died while sleeping.

In order of replies so far:

SOB: That`s just plain dumb and provocative. I`m not, and germany hasn`t been in my lifetime. I`ll try to make sure it stays that way, and that following generations grow up in a peaceful country.

midnight Target: You didn`t - sorry to have generalized. It`s just that CNN is perceived as the "voice of america" over here. Clarifying: I think the statement is imperialist, and it`s out on CNN - ugly. Now of course nobody thinks like that statement. Yeah, right.

muckmaw: You just say it`s annexed, and who speaks up gets shot. Plain and simple.

Ahh well. Just heard about Chimpy complaining about Russia allegedly selling Iraq the tech to spoil his gadgets (jammers, NV googles etc)... I could build such a jammer (small range) from scrap parts. WTG deescalating the situation.

But it seems people`s minds are made up and not to be confused with thought. I`m just gonna shut up on the forum and wait for the marines to free me from nazi opression.

i heard the russian GPS jammers don't work too good , i think they were made from old (new for russia) AM tube type radios.

Can you make nightvision scopes out of scrap parts too?

If so, you really took the Iraqi's for a ride, selling them those gadgets, huh?

WTG, German Capitalism!

Its a funny thing about those GPS Jammers..Oleg Maddox will probably model them in his UpComming Lock-On as UBER.  Russian Project= 100% Truth and Honesty......LOL....

CNN considers itself the voice of America.. or YOU do, that doesn't make it so.

Pot calling the kettle black?

I`m just gonna shut up on the forum...

Goody

Would most likely be the Army... like last time.

Russian Foregign Minister, Igor' Ivanov, already made some comments about silly accusatins from American department of state.

Nightvision scopes can be bought in any hunter shop here, as well as in Europe.

Jammers!? "Aviakonvers" director, Oleg Antonov, already said that their main customer so far was American government.

Stupidity must be infectious in American administration. What's next? I thought that the demand to send away Iraqi diplomatic missions was the summit of idiotism, but they always have something to surprise with.

USSR stopped supplying weapons to Iraq with the start of Iraq-Iran war in 1980. While US was quite happy selling them arms against Iran.

You're right Boroda... you guys make those jammers as good as you can. How else can Saddam divert a JDAM into a civilian target?

After the war is over, we will have a perfect excuse for the civilian deaths....It was the Russian's fault!!

Sorry, going back to usenet quoting style.

No. I`d really need equipment for those, and my knowledge is only theoretical. OTOH, I built and used an UHF jammer when I was 16 :P Go to http://www.conrad.de to find some and fund our nazi economy. It`s basically a matter of hitting the right, well known, frequency - and range goes down with frequency, so you`d have to put some power to it for the GHz satellite signal ranges. OTOH again, those (sattelite receivers) work on very low signal strength.

I guess the Iraqis got physics professors, too.

Funny. I keep finding similarities between Bush and Hitler all the time. Maybe that`s cause german reeducation (not only after 45, but the way war is perceived here generally, and it`s not a bad thing to condemn war...). I`m wondering why (`sides having their relatives and loved ones fighting in Iraq) the "Amis" can`t find them.

"We will accept no outcome but victory" - "Der Endsieg ist nah"

Fighting each nation in the so-called Axis of Evil - "Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze Welt"

The act of going to war ignoring (and defacing) the UN - "Der Völkerbund ist nichts als ein Kaffeehaus"

Now, to make ONE thing clear I posted weeks ago. I`m all in favour of getting rid of Saddam, but style *does* matter. At the rate Bush is going, he`ll have all the world against him in no time flat. And just like Hitler (though probably by another way), he`ll discover he can`t take on all the world, all the time.

Now REALLY shutting up. Back to popping beer and tortilla chips to CNN footage. to all the US soldiers down there putting their lives on the line. to all the non-indoctrinated iraqis, mostly civilian but military, too. I hope all those won`t have to give their lives for a just cause - spearheaded by not one, but TWO morons.

please lets stick together. germany, france, and russia will have plenty of opportunities in the future to save the world from tyranny, and turn a buck on this deal.

Well, another example of "democratic" government lieing to us :(

Thanks for pointing this fact. I think I'll notice it on some Russian forums.

Shame on me. A good result of not using my usual principle of never trusting officials :(
