correct me if i am wrong, but didn't that plane only go one one mission with only two of them to bomb the mainland of japan. If memory severves me correct they were the "Hobo queen" and the "Hobo queen II" and wasn't the 386th the only one to fly the bomber. I also belive the Designer was the Consolidated Vultee Aircraft Corporation.

Read the news; BBS policy change. No more file attachments -- you have to link them off of another webserver using the IMG tag.

Why does that look like a B29 to me?

The B32 was my next guess, only reason didnt go with that, the 32 had an ungodly high vertical tail; the  one in the pic doesnt look that high.

The B32 was a response to the same bomber requirement as the B29 (the Lockheed Constellation design was another), and was kept on as a backup  in case the 29 couldn't overcome the challenges of its more radical design.  Only one squadron saw combat, hitting Japan from Okinawa at the very end of the war.
