Title: I need to learn more about ACM
Post by: Ecke-109- on March 27, 2003, 08:41:51 AM
Hello gents,

i am not a newbie. But i am not very familiar with the terms of ACM.
I probably use them by intuition and learning from my oponents in the game.
But for lots of them ,i dont know the right term.
And i am sure ,there are some ACM left that i dont know.
I dont want to waste my time by searching the web for sketches that shows 2 planes and a handfull of swinging lines.
So i would like to enjoy your support.

Please send me films which shows certain ACM.If possible ,name that films comparing to the ACM it is representing.
The films should be as short as possible and as long as necessary.
Even you are a victim of an ACM.I would love to see it all. :D
This is not a 'best kill contest'.Only nameable ACM ,and even your personal tricks are interesting for me.

Send it to  ecke@me109.net

Regards,
Ecke

Hi Ecke,
If you get a film from Jackal showing you how to auger a pony in style, please forward on to me ok?
I am soooo envious of his ability to do it in style and with such grace !!

Thanks in advance

Mouse is a pretty cool guy, if you ever get the chance to meet him.  He's probably forgotten more about ACM than I'll ever know.

ACM is flying with a wingman and both executing BFM, what you really want to concentrate on is BFM then pursue ACM. And as all have pointed out Shaws book is great for both, also simhg.com has great articles in the air combat corner. Going over BFM with a trainer in the TA would also be of immediate input.

Thank you Tyro48 for correcting...

after consulting my dictionary...thats it... BasicFlightManeuver. ;)

I would like to build up a little library of common and
uncommon BFM. Just for my own enjoyment and studies.
For comfortable use,the moves should be all ahf-files.

I could buy that book, and learn to name the maneuvers. And then film my own flights. After that ,i would watch the films (hopefully to find some well and clean flown BFM),and then cut the moves and name the files comparing to the move.

But thats not the same:)

Probably, here in the forum is a bit more knowledge as it is in the 'Fighter Combat' book.
And maybe ,some experienced guys here (with that knowledge) remember themselves that they filmed a beautiful fight with one or more exciting moves or tricks.Even a simple but smooth flown barrelroll with a destroyed oponent as a result.

And if these guys would take maybe about 30mins or so,to watch that film again and cut the sequence and rename the file.
On the way to that ,they could catch a simple 15 or 20sec 'Split-s'move.
.....man...that would be nice

Hopefully yours,Ecke
