Title: cant hear but can be heard same problem

I have the same Problem exactly!!!! My Vox starts out ok but then does the same thing! I try rebooting but no luck! I am at a lose as to what to do also!! I'm on a pent 3 700mhz with soundblaster live. I have had this problem forever!!
