Title: UN Tardlings
Post by: funkedup on March 27, 2003, 04:57:43 PM
Story (http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid=540&ncid=540&e=2&u=/ap/20030327/ap_on_re_mi_ea/war_un_iraq_12)

"Britain and the United States are about to start a real war of extermination that will kill everything and destroy everything," Al-Douri warned. "And then their regret will be of no use."

Trust me Mr. Al-Douri, if we really wanted a war of extermination, there wouldn't be a single Iraqi left on the planet, including you.

Funny how regret works. Hindsight isn't always 20/20 but it's usually better than foresight. Will those who stood by, watched and made "tch-tch" feel regret? Time will tell. Until that time, do what you feel you must and leave the regretting (or not) for a later time. After all ... some believe that doing something beats doing nothing. Now all you have is intent.

Do those with good intent feel regret? I think that depends on those they were intending to help and whether they're grateful for the effort or not.

What purpose does regret serve?

Iraq is fighting a war of propoganda and the foolish listen.

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption.

The only regret, and it'll be MAJOR REGRET, is if this is done and no WMD can be found.

Then, la deluge!

Additionally, France and Russia spoke out against the US/UK proposal to restart the "oil for food" program in order to get more food and medical supplies to the Iraqis living in areas already liberated.

They said they'd rather watch the people starve than look like they are contributing to the war effort.
