I wouldn't, especially if you are running DX9.  These drivers make alterations to the way some graphics are displayed.

They will not pass WHQL certification.

Do tell - I've got DX9 installed because of the Freelancer demo.

So what do you suggest Skuzzy?  Going to 43.45 & DirectX9 finally cleared up my AH initialization problem.  But I do have a PC freeze problem about 5 mins. into flying in AH.  Any ideas?

Well, the 30.82 Det's seem to be the most stable for GF4 (non-MX) cards.

I can vouch for that skuzzy.  I would even say that, with my system, 30.82's are the latest nvidia drivers that work.

p4 1.7
winxp
712 sdram
gf4 ti 4200.

The machine locks up and sputters and pukes with any of the later drivers, especially in AH

All I can say is that on my system, the 30.82's are the most stable.  I have NEVER experienced an increase in performance
with the 'latest detonator drivers'.  I have a gf 4 ti 4200, and
have the same drivers that came with them installed.
  Goto Start\control panel\display\settings(tab)\advanced(button)
\gf 4 440mx or whatever, your driver version should be the
last 4 numbers in the list of driver files' details.
ie mine is 6.13.10.3082.  And my drivers is 30.82.

mia..goto the nvidia website, and find the 'search'  then just
type in 30.82 and pick your os.
I believe that my gf4 440mx worked well with the 29.xx also.
But sucked on all the 40.xx's.

Go to Guru3D (http://www.guru3d.com)  to download any of the Nvidia drivers, official and beta drivers.

At the Guru3d website, you can download a program called the Nvidia File Remover that will delete the nvidia driver files from your system.

The best way to remove any trace of the drivers from your system is to first, uninstall the Nvidia Display Drivers through the Add/Remove applet in your Control Panel.  Once you've done that, reboot the computer into Safe Mode and then run the Nvidia File Remover program to make sure that all traces of the Nvidia drivers have been removed.  Once you've deleted all references to the nvidia driver, reboot and then install the driver you want to install.

I have done everything that I can think of and all that has been posted here and in my "Patch 4 After Effects" thread and nothing seems to have worked.  The closest I got was when I installed the 43.45 drivers with DirectX9 and AH would initialise correctly but AH would lock up about 5 to 10 mins into the game everytime.  I am totally at wits end.  If this can't get resolved I don't see any reason to maintain my online subscription as it has been about a week and a half since this problem manifested itself.  Prior to Patch 4 AH was magnificent in its stability and now AH, MS CFS3, and MoH all don't run correctly on my computer.  Is there a common thread that links these games together that could have been corrupted by Patch 4?  Anything at this point will be heartilly welcomed.  Here is my rig:

PIII 667
Win2K SP3
Tyan Trinity S1857 VIA 133 Apollo Pro
256mb RAM
NVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 64mb (PNY)

Thanks for any kind of help I can get, don't know what else to do at this point...

Have you tried to move the AH "settings" folder to another name and basically start from scratch?  Do not move any files from the old settings folder and see what happens.

Skuzzy-
Just to be clear when you say "move the AH settings folder to another name" are you saying to rename the current settings folder or creating a new folder in another directory and putting the current settings contents into that folder?

"Starting from scratch" meaning AH uninstall and reinstall or doing the video drivers and directX for the nth time?

"Do not move any files from the old settings folder and see what happens." meaning what?  You had just said to move the settings folder to another name.  Do you want me to use the new settings that come with Patch 4 install?

I have done so much uninstalling and reinstalling of drivers, files, folders, etc...that I want some more exacting details at this point.  I am not mad or angry, just really tired of dealing with this problem.  I enjoy AH so much and it has been almost 2 weeks since I was able to play, withdrawals are a squeak bro!!
