You live in a small country.
World's biggest bully decides he doesn't like your government and attacks your country. He openly announces he doesn't need UN to tell him what to do. He plans to install its own protectorate in your country and leave UN out of it.
Would you fight ?

If the President's son had fed my father into a shredder.. no.
If the President had sent his troops to eliminate all those of my ethnicity in a particular part of my country.... no.
If the President tore out the tongues of those who spoke in opposition to his policies.... no.
If the President erected huge statues of himself while children died of starvation... no.
If the President built huge palaces for himself while the population had insufficient medical facilities and medicines.. no.
Clear enough? Or do you need more examples? ;)

If I think the army is here to liberate, I don't fight them.
If I think the army is here to invade, I do (with extreme prejudice and complete disregard for any rules).

No I would just kill more old croatian women and children, then maybe a rape a few bosnian women and if time permits behead a few kosovars... Thats what I would do! Right Slobo?
Seriously Hristo I dont remember you compaining one bit back in 1998 when the USA went into kosovo and bombed Serbia and prepared a land invasion all without UN approval...
-
Dunno guys .... I think I would fight. Right alongside the "big bully".

I live in a small country.
Our dictator rapes, gasses, and butchers us. Then he invades all the countries around us and does the same.
Would you fight?

I guess this excersice is a lot easier if you leave out all the juicy details.
Why not just post your feelings. Its not like they are not apparent enough. No need to hide behind this silly hypothosis.

Who is US to patronize on anyone ?
Your president won suspicious elections.
Your president spends billions on aggressive war.
Your president allows torture of captured talibans.
Your president doesn't care for UN.
Your president considers Iraqi civilian losses acceptable.
Again, who is GWB to decide if SH is good or bad for the world ? He is one of the worst scums to got elected.
-
what if you've been under propaganda for 35 year ?

Suspicious elections? Tell me which election laws were violated? GWB won every Florida count and recount no matter what count method was used even when the recount was done in Al Gore's most preffered way. Al Gore lost the election, plain and simple. If you bring up anything about the popular vote you will only confirm your ignorance about us election system, so dont.
Bill clinton spent billions on agressive war all over the world, why werent you complaining then?
Prove it...
Bill clinton ignored the UN when he attacked serbia, you did not say a thing back then - and serbia was not threating the USA in any way. You said nothing.
All of this would be fine if you just came out and said that you hate Bush for some bizzare european reason like all the others - but you insist on masking that with some elaborate veil of concern about human rights, peace, the UN, your ignorance of US law and whatever else you can come up with... You make yourself look silly Hristo, plese stop making yourself look silly my friend...

I think the ones most loyal to SH are the bullies of Iraq. Henchmen handpicked by his son in the case of the Fedayeen Saddam.
"Formed in 1995 to put down internal dissent, the Fedayeen is composed of some of Saddam's most loyal followers. The name, "Fedayeen Saddam," is translated as “those ready to sacrifice themselves for Saddam.” The Fedayeen are trained to engage in guerilla warfare and suicide missions. They are known to wear black uniforms -- and cover their face with black scarves -- but they have also been known to operate in civilian clothes. Size estimates range from 25,000 to 60,000 thousand members. Earlier this month, U.S. officials claimed Fedayeen members were acquiring military uniforms “identical down to the last detail” to those worn by American and British forces and planned to use them to shift blame for atrocities. OMG! OMG! What on earht is wrong with you.. OMG! Jesus Christ..
Freedom? Freedom for what? To starve while saddam builds palaces? To be isolated from the world? Freedom to live under a police state of thughs and people who put you in plastic shredders.
If anybody ever had doubts about the effect of communist brainwashing for people to hate america no matter what - there it is.
Hristo I now hate you.

You got yourself another Vietnam.

I believe you were doing the patronizing when you started this thread.

Actually, my President won an election. Period. By Law. Electoral College thing, old chap. Supported by Rule of Law. Supreme Court. You may not like it but there it is.

We spend billions and billions and billions on lots of things. Your modifier is merely your unsupported opinion; you know what opinions are like, right?
There are counter arguments to yours that have been hashed out here and other places, so no need to repeat.
You're entitled to your opinion. But that's all it is, an opinion.

Horse potatoes. Utter bull excrement.

Hey! I don't care for the UN! What a coincidence!
Tell me again what the UN did to stop the slaughter in Kosovo, please. I missed your detailed description of how the UN acted to stop the killing. That's why YOU like them right?

Your president considers Iraqi civilian losses acceptable.
IMO, I think he considers some unavoidable now that SH has refused to comply with the terms of the ceasefire from GW1 for the very last time.
I certainly don't think anyone views them as "acceptable".

While you, on the other hand, are perfectly fit and capable to make that exact judgement about Bush?
:D
Thanks! It's not nearly as entertaining around here without Boroda.. but you do make up for his absence a little bit.

While the war drags on, it becomes us and them (you and them, in this case).
But don't expect 'them' to consider you liberators.

You mean, my government who wouldn't think twice about executing me just for the hell of it? My government who most likely killed at least one person that I knew? And this bully made it perfectly clear that he intended to make it possible for me to be ruled by one of my own people with a representative government? Well, in that case, I guess I wouldn't think the invading country was led by a bully at all. I wouldn't fight, except maybe the army following the tyrannical leader of my country. And I'd think anyone sitting on their bellybutton insulting from the sidelines and wanting me to keep living under a tyrannical rule was a dickhead.

But if it makes you feel any better, Hristo ... once the Iraqi people are free from Saddam's evil dictatorship and enjoying the same prosperity that their neighbors to the south (Kuwait) do ... it probably won't take but a generation or two (if that) for them to forget and get on a moral high-horse when the U.S. once again steps in to do the U.N.'s job somewhere else. It's a trend that seems common. ;)
