Title: Air Starts - Offline
Post by: dracon on March 29, 2003, 09:12:41 PM
Hiyas,
Is there a way to specify an "Air Start" in offline mode??  Is there a global or .command for this?

I know the Germany map, ROOK A48 gives an "Air Start".  Are there others?

Thanks for the info.

No, Air Starts are built into the terrain - I think Germany may be the only one with Air Starts, I am not sure.  I know there are a few in Germany.... I think A26 (NE spawn?) is one as far as I remember.

Thanks!

I have looked high and low in the .commands and the terrain setups.  Figured this might be the case.  Couldn't find a thing.

You can always use the vertical wind settings to vastly increase your altitude gain rates.  I do this offline all the time on any map so I can get bombers/jabo/etc up to altitude.  Just remember to turn it back off when you are at your desired altitude.  Using this, you can get a  bomber to 20K in under a minute, easy.

Dracon, are you just looking to practice hi alt shinanigans off line?  Send me an email (bbs addy should work), and I can send you a terrain with various air starts, and targets.

I first made it to practice attacking CVs from High Alt, but there are also land targets and other stuff to blow up.
