Post by: Kanth on March 30, 2003, 07:16:58 PM
why don't we chip our troops?

could make alot of things easier, and POW recovery chances would be higher.

Where are you planning on putting the antenna?

Oh... and the GPS transmitter is in the satellite, not in the receiver.

When the Land Warrior system comes online the Army will know where the troops are at all times. Unless...they get captured of course.

Well they can chip our pets and children now in order to find them..

I don't see why we can't chip our troops to find them.

I'm familiar with the land warrior system....is it like GPS?

I suppose you might encode the chip to prevent the enemy from using the same technology to target the chipped troops but would you want to risk it?

If they cannot make it secure then nope, I wouldn't risk it.

If they can make it secure then I think it'd be a good idea.

those chips (at least the pet ones anyway, not putting id chips on in my kids) don't locate you by satalite.  the are just a high-tech ID tag. you run the scanner over the chip area and it reads the data.  you can't just go to a map screen and locate your dogs beacon.

They do have watches for kids like that, though.  You can locate the kid if it's wearing the watch.
