yep.. on the news they were talking about nationalizing the airline industry...
is it just me, or does this concept bother anyone else?
what's next?
-
That would be the one sure way to screw it up worse than it already is. :D
-
Huh.
Here some media, mostly controlled by Moscow City government, statred speaking of nationalisation of oil industry...
-
talking and doing are not the same, southwest and jet blue (they have the same biz plan) prove they can fly and make profit, other airlines will have to change or be replaced.
i'm not in favor of mergers, you take two airlines that are losing money and merge them , you now have a bigger airline that is losing money.
anyone remember republic airlines , a regional that was well run and profitable , it was bought by a money losing big airline.
after the buy out, republic was gone and the biggy still was losing money.

I work in the commercial airlplane manufacturing business and I can tell you its ugly right now. 15 years and all it has done since late 1999 is get worse.
If you know a young person looking for a proffessional career steer them clear of this one. A big upset is on the way and the rebuild, provided it occurs, will likely happen overseas where highly trained engineers and mechanics will work for a few bucks a day and no benifits.

How about nationalized health care first...I would think that's a little more important. ;)

ask the Canadians how theirs is working...
I hear opposing views all the time.

What do the Canucks have to do with it? They put cheese curds and gravy on french fries for crying out loud. Plus they go around saying 'eh all the time, which to me means they can't be trusted, eh!

I think the word you were looking for was ambrosia. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it, poutine rawks.
PS: The Canadian government wants to give Air Canada yet another $500 million dollers in loan garauntees, because they don't know how to run a business.
-
lol Thrawn.. yeah that's what they say about Biscuits and Gravy...
hey, everyone knows French Fries are American.. right..?
salt yes, but chesse curds and gravy?
me, I prefer crispy and salty...when I get a chance to have them that is.

If the airlines gets nationalized, it will probabally either be owned by Microsoft or Time Warner

What is happening to the Airline industry now happened to our railroads back in the 1970's.
What the government did then, and will likely do again, is take the bankrupt carriers and consolidate them into one company, then keep it afloat until it can support itself again. (In the case of the railroads, this was "Consolidated Railroad Corporation, better known as "Conrail", which was fairly recently bought out by CSX.) Like the railroads, the airline is too important to allow it to dissolve into nothing.

Bah, pessimists! :D
I worked at Douglas (MD80) and at Boeing (747 & 767) and now am in maintenance, since the manufacturing gig was kinda lame. Not to say it wasn't a good job, but there is so much in-fighting and petty BS involved in every job its just discouraging. So now I fix 'em and the pety BS is about different stuff LOL:) ;)

Surprisingly, Ranch dressing is pretty good on Fre...er Fries.
