Wright Bros. lived, designed, built, developed their aircraft in Dayton, OH.  They only went to Kittyhawk for test flights.  After the first Flyer, all their subsequent planes were flown in Dayton.  Their facility there eventually evolved into Wright Field aka Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which was the technological center of the first 50 years or so of military aviation.

OH has "Birthplace of Aviation" on their license plates and NC has "First in Flight" on their plates.  Both claims seem reasonable to me.

Him making reference to Miko2d's Confederrate Flag avatar. Him say Miko's a promoter of hate.

Why do I feel like the Indian chief in that "Go Go Gophers" cartoon that had to translate for the brave who couldn't speak English? God, they don't make cartoons like they used to...

They stopped distributing and showing most of those great old cartoons because they were not PC-compliant.
I miss the islander dude who had a long conversation with Bugs Bunny that involved only the words unga, binga, and bunga.

I remember that one! Ever seen the Popeye cartoons released during WW2? They showed the Japanese and Germans as evil, despicable villans who would stop at nothing to win a war. That's when you KNOW you're in a war- when the cartoons encourage hate. No hate for the enemy- girls in combat- I'll tell ya, they don't wage war like they used to.

AAAGGGHHHH It's SINKING feeling NOT "stinking" feeling! A "sinking" feeling is one where you start suspecting your worst suspicions are true. If you get a "stinking" feeling then change your diet.

I've had a stinking feeling all day, damn cold medicine turns me into a swamp gas factory.

If the US wants to use chem/bio weapons first on Iraq, nows they have an opportune chance for a limitless supply... just paradrop me in at 10,000ft, by the time I reach the ground it'll be covered in a thick green haze.

It'd be rancid enough to kill any and all forms of life, even cockroaches!

I can't- everytime I go to a seperate room to let the release valve blow and quickly evacuate the room. I let the animals suffer the torment of laying in the room with the hellish odor. My body is even reacting to it's own smells by producing more flem and snot logarithmically.

You wanna torture captured terrorists? Stick 'em in a room for 5 seconds with my ass, I guarantee you if they can still smell afterwards they'll realize their **** out luck praising Allah!

I have black friends also and the ignorance here is shown by you.

You cannot take the confederate out of southerners.
So they "forced" us to stay in the union and now they are "forcing" us to take the flag down in Ga. and SC. state houses.
Guess what? Pride runs deep. We put a bigger one next door to the state house at the confederate memorial and put spotlights on it. You can see it for thirty miles at night.

They made us take them down at schools and government buildings, so 5 out of 10 folks down here started flying them at home and on bumpers of cars. Id say since this
"crusade" has started there are 50% more confederate flags being flown in the south than previously.
wtg

The people that push this whole flag thing are the real racists.

Its just a point for "certain" black politicians/reverends to grab the soapbox and spread hate.
Pointing fingers and calling us haters for flying our flag only spreads malcontent
The flag doesn't have SQUAT to do with black people unless they are confederates themselves. Many balck people FOUGHT and DIED for the confederatecy

Its about heritage not hate.
But when they "say" the flag is hate,
It creates haters.

Swastika avatar?

Won't happen. It wouldn't bother me, but we have dear friends here who have already gone on record as stating that they find it extremely hurtful and offensive. I can accept that.

I would be far more inclined to argue for having actual, historical markings on German aircraft as they were flown into battle, but even in that case, the feelings of my friends would supersede my desire for historical accuracy in every detail. I will live without the swastika on my favorite aircraft for that reason.

Just for ya information, ya tard.

Ulrich Rudel was a very ugly, nazilovin idiot who praised Nazitime all of his lifetime and denied Holocast till he finally died , a few years ago. Hope his soul is rotten in hell.

Adolf Galland served very ugly southamerican dictatorship country after the war and trained it's airforce.

He's just a snob to me.

Some of the Real heroes were workin under the name "Weiße Rose'. It was a 'Widerstandsgruppe', mostly students.

Hans and Sophie Scholl, their friends and there professor.

They did some aggitation, mostly in the night, till they finally were caught and send to death. to them.

Most of the Heroes of this war are mostly unknown, tho.

Were some brave people, normal people, who hided jews , helped them get out of Nazi-Germany,always in fear of losing their own lives, shared their food with them, sometimes till the end of the war.

Some Heroes left, though, if we talk of War Heroes during WW2 on the side of Germany.

That are some thousant "Deserteure", who refused to follow that violent regime anymore, stopped fightin in the name of Germanny and run for their lives. Most of them were caught and hanged ,too. to them.

Yes, well... that's because they were forced to fight for the "confederatecy", while they were free to fight for the union.

The difference here was fighting under enslavement vs. fighting under freedom for their freedom.

Maybe your right. Even if you are(we disagree), the fact remains that it happened 150 years ago. This crusade was started recently to take a way a southern symbol of pride. Its based on hate or revenge. How else can you take it?

It fuels hate and division here in the south. There is freedom here in the US you cannot stop folks from flying the flag. The hate you see when you look at it is a reflection of your heart.

You can choose to hate or not.

To me it means home.

Well I'm right in the subject which I replied to, in the south slaves were slaves.. while they fought and died for the south, they still did it as slaves.

As for the rest, I realize what the stars 'n bars mean to the majority of southerners... I've got just as much deep south blood in me as I do far north. I don't disagree with you on that issue.

I resent the use of the British flag as an avatar, it represents centuries of colonial repression.  Think of all the poor desperate pirates who were caught and hanged by ships and crews flying this flag :D (ok just kidding, but you do realize that any flag / national symbol may mean something different to others, dont you?)

Now the swaztika is just wrong (if it represents nazism) but the rebel flag is a symbol more of lost causes than hate.  Or perhaps it just represents the southern need to pull on the chin whiskers of the yankee powers.  (everyone in the north is rich and powerful, ya'know) :p

If you look closely, more racists use the swazitka than the rebel battle flag to represent thier "feelings".  I hate racism, and living where i do, and have lived, I have seen it in action.  It is a subtle thing sometimes, and you cannot say that because I honor the memory of the men who fought for the confederacy that I am a racist.  You may find other reasons to do so, but I hope not, as I try to put such petty ignorance behind me and hope to teach my children to look beyond race and religion.

OK just my opinion....couldn't stand it anymore, had to post.....
