... and if the US military is really nipping at Saddam's heels, how does he have time for this nonsense?

I imagine that quite of few of Sadaam's men are in serious need of a bath party.  Sweating it out in a bunker while high explosive munitions are raining down must cause some seriously nasty odors.  Many of their guys are probably losing control of their bodily functions also...a stinky bunch they must be.

Apparently you missed the minister of informations press conference.   The coalition near bagdhad?  That's "silly".  The coalition is trapped in all their locations.
