Heard an interesting one on a field reporter asking a Marine about his munitions on the back of an APV (Claymore mine, C-6 explosives}

Reporter: "Are those dangerous to handle?"
Marine: "U.S. explosives are the safest in the world to handle"

:rolleyes:

Explosives we did use were pretty safe, you could burn them in the oven, you could shoot thru them, hit them with a hammer etc.

Just don't eat it or you would get a trip which would make Jimi Hendrix (r.i.p) jealous :D

hmm kinda funny, explosives made for civilian use are more dangerous than stuff we were using...

High explosives such as RDX and HMX are very hard to detonate. You need to set them off with an explosion from a detonator.

The detonator contains a less stable explosive like lead azide that can be intiated by percussion or an electric charge.

Detonators are much more deadly to carry around in your pocket than the roll of primacord is to carry in your hand. We always carried detonators in a steel tube lined in foam. But we would carry primacord or shaped charges in a cardboard box.
