Title: Iraqi who helped rescue Pfc. Jessica Lynch should be brought to the US

If this story is true (and I don't see why it wouldn't be) this man and his family should be brought to the US ASAP for their protection.  He went way out on a limb for us and even after the war is over there will be a great number of people who are pissed at us who might lash out at those they see as traitors. He and his family will only really be safe in the USA.

You know Grunherz, you make me think that a piece of rock got more tolerance than you.
Reading your posts, not only this one, brings me to the conclusion that you are a guy who is comin from Europe to the USA in the hope to make a better life and didn't got the message for what the US stand for.
What do you want to be? An uber American? You represent in my eyes the negative stereotype of an American, today so popular in Europe.
Look for the word "tolerance" in a Dictionary, and think about it.

I was being sarcastic in response to cries from the antiwar crowd that the iraqi population will hate the USA infidel invaders and will not help them and will try to kill them en masse. Did you not pick up on the million mogadishus reference?

Get it now?

I  agree 100% bring him here at least until this mess is over and see if he wants to go home then.  Heck, what he did should count for 75% of his citizenship here.

They said on the news all he asked for in return was an American Flag...

I wonder if the US tax payer is going to pick up the bill for all those Iraqi refugees wanting to flee persecution after this thing is done. Plenty of Sunni Muslims will need a place to get away from the Shi'ites and the Kurds.

Or maybe it will be left to little old England to shoulder the burden... we seem to have a lot of Afghanis and Iraqis around here.

I'd say the US owes him a debt of gratitude. But I'd ask him how we could help him the most.

Or is that too complex an idea?

Careful Toad. Someone might get the impression that you're a reasonable man.

There's lotsa exiled Iraqis in the US, many of which will probably soon return to Iraq. However, I imagine this guy will have no trouble immigrating to the US should he so choose.

How about this.  We free his people from despotic rulers, allow the people to freely choose the new government in the spirit of democracy,  revitalize his country's economy and lift his country's per capita annual GDP from the paltry $3000 it is presently....

naw, that would take war.

>just joking... a little...some sort of individual thanks is in order
