iraq now will have a second source of income after the oil exports, with all the thousands of burned up T72's and BMP's they can start a scrapmetal business.
-
american humor?...
what a joke :(
-
As a joke it is in bad taste.
I do admit that yesterday while watching the news I wondered about the recycling/reclaiming of all the scrap metal that was laying around. Problem is.. some is uranium contaminated. Seems that would get kinda messy to clean up.
Anyways... the thought popped into my head yesterday... though I saw little humor in it.

It's about all their good for.

hey, after the American Civil War, the leading industry in Mississippi was production of prosthetics for amputees.
-
I found it amusing. :)

Your nic disqualifies you from impartial posting on the subject.

OK half the men watching cnn wondered about the money they could make in the iraqi scrap metal business after the war!!
I don't think it was aimed at the death trap russian built armor
to poke fun of it, but maybe it was... ?
Also being a sitework or roadwork company right now with the equipment to fix the damaged roads and bridges would be
huge over their in a couple of months...
Also a company that can deal with contaminated anything will
be big....
Blitz you seem to be good with dung!!! get your arse over to Baghdad and start cleaning the crap up!!

Wasn't even that funny, even though I must admit I like the non PC nature of it.
Just can't help it though. What I see is young and old men being forced to fight superior US forces (maybe not numerically superior, but better equipment and training). If they don't fight, they get shot - am quite sure this has happened.
And these are people who have loved ones. Some will have shared a joke at a dinner that turns out to be their last together with their doomed friends. Some daughters and sons will never see their parents again, thanks to Saddam's insistence against overwhelming odds. The US soldiers do their job; kill or be killed. Their political masters do theirs as best they can (possibly protecting their own private interests at the same time).
I appreciate the Coalition gains, but I have met too many Iraqi people in real life for them to be a faceless enemy. And in this war, I daresay that for at least a minoriity of them, it is also a reluctant enemy.
But enough about that. More unPC jokes please; I'll support them on the grounds that their unPC alone :).

if only saddam had done what the UN asked him to do , all the thousands of lives could have been saved, but france and the rest of you ********* encouraged him to resist, you can thank yourself for the deaths.
-
Well... if the Bush had done what the UN wanted, all those thousands of lives might also have been saved. Guess that's France's fault also.
-
bush did what the UN wanted , read 1441
-
I've read it.
-
then I guess that's settled.

True story
Went to the barber shop to get a trim today and all 3 barbers
were joking about getting into the Iraqi scrap metal business...

My liberal anti-war friend, with whom I argued with the entire lunch hour with about the war, ironically asked me whether a mooring at my father's place was availiable for his boat.
I said to him that he should sink his own mooring...and that if he needed something heavy he should see how much it would take to get a T-72 turret sent over from Iraq as they are just lying around in Bagdad.
He failed to see the humour.
-
i've put some boat moorings down , and i think a T72 would be a most excelent mooring.
-
I think an evil nazi like regime like saddam's going to hell is pretty funny.
I regret civilians dieing over there.
But how many would have died tortured or even raped if never something happened.
The politics behind it are always nasty.
