Hello to all my AH friends been a while since I posted here.  :-) Wanted to share some new pictures that I have just posted up on my Legends web site. These are of aircraft that I photographed at the sun and fun air show. We got some great pictures of P51's, and a Spit9e. there are some PBY cats and a few F4U corsairs, and an F8 Bear Cat, some T28's and a few other planes of interest.
Oh did I say a yak9 too...

I was there Saturday; shot a 24-exp roll and half of a second 24-exp roll.  I'm going to have them developed and put on cd sometime later this week.  I got the same planes you did (tho I didn't shoot the PBY - too big to fit in the frame!) and also the F-117 fly-by.  I had the wife with me and she was running out of steam by noon, so I missed the big Warbird parade flight. :(  I also didn't see the P-39 and Seversky fighter on the grass - must've been hidden to the south where we didn't walk.

What were you shooting?  50mm for ground shots and 300mm for the in-flight?  Film or digital?

well done - thanks for sharing!  but why is that spitfire pink!?!? is that some kind of desert camouflage?

There was a placard that explained that camo scheme.  That Spitfire is a recon model, and during tests it was determined that the pink camo made the plane difficult to discern during low-alt photo passes over Holland.  During the war, there was also a light-blue scheme that was used on the high-alt planes.  The plane itself was retired in '47 and went on to serve in another air force for a bit, then went to a training school in the 50s where it was kept in running condition for a number of years before being sold to a museum that put it on static display outdoors.  The elements took their toll and corrosion wrecked the plane.  It was restored and put back on display where it started to deteriorate again.  A new owner, another restoration, this time to flying condition, and now its on tour.

Here's an excerpt from a story printed in today's Tampa Tribune:

The Sun 'n Fun attracts thousands of aircraft. By Tuesday afternoon, there had been seven minor accidents. The most serious injuries occurred when pedestrians were hit on the head by wings of airplanes on the taxiways. The victims spent a night in the hospital for observation, said Lakeland police Sgt. Dennis Mack.

Glad you guys are enjoying the pictures. To answer Go-faster's question about the cameras used, it was strictly digital, we switched over about 2 years ago and never looked back. I use two different cameras when taking the pictures. Many of the close up shots were taken with a Canon Elf powershot S100, just a little bity thing. But it takes great pictures and I can get it into cocpits for those nice close ups. I have been able to reach it into some pretty tight spots for those inside the panel shots so I really like it. For general pictures and the zoom shots I use an Olympus C-2100 w/10X zoom (not enough for air shows really). The Olympus takes a great looking picture but is a little slow for those action shots. I usually set the cameras to automatic and just shoot away, the secret is to be patient and take hundreds of pictures and hope maybe one or two is worth keeping.

I just picked up an Olympus C4500 digital camera (I think that's the model) that I'm still trying to figure out.  4.0 megapixel with limited video capability, 10x zoom, but I haven't really messed with it yet.  I'm sticking with my Pentax ZX-5n film camera until I feel more comfortable with the Olympus.

I shot this at Sebring during the races a few years back:
