I bought the 25 best of Schoolhouse Rock video for my son about 6 months ago. At the time he was not interested in it at all, but since then he has requested it time and time again. He calls it the Homework Tape.
It has been on non-stop for the past few weeks.
I used to watch the SchoolHouse Rock song in between cartoons on Saturday morning and it brings back some very vivid memories of my childhood when I hear certain songs. One in particular is "3 is a Magic Number"...I always had trouble with my 3 times tables when I was a kid...this song enabled me to learn it through the song.
So..that one gets my "Best" vote.
I really like the Pronoun Song too though...really incredible how that song describes what a pronoun is...Rufus Xavier Saperella is one character in that one.
Which ones do you remember and which is your favorite?
...and Conjunction Junction doesn't count..everyone remembers that one. ;)

I have to go with "I'm just a bill" But that might be because of the "Amendment to be" song from the Simpsons. lol

1.Interjection!
I also like this verse from the noun song
"Mrs Jones is a lady who lives on hudson st. She sends her dog to bark at my brother and me. We gave her dog a big fat bone and now he barks at mrs Jones"

The Shot Heard Round the World!
Now the ride of Paul Revere
Set the nation on its ear,
And the shot at Lexington
Heard round the world.
When the British fired
In the early dawn,
The War of Independence had begun,
The die was cast, the rebel flag unfurled.
love that stuff!

They were all good... but "I'm just a bill" was my favorite.

A catchy little ditty...but I thought it was funny how the song breezed right over the need to clear the land of Indians before America could really get its "elbow room".;)

Chorus: Verb! That's what's happenin'
Lead: To swing!
Chorus: Yeah!
Lead: To hit!
Chorus: Yeah!
Lead: To throw!

Chorus: Shun shunshunshun
Lead: Tee Eye Oh In

Ah, fond memories, indeed.
Doesn't the guy who sings "I'm just a Bill" sound like Ray Charles?
-
His name was Larry Verne. He also did "Please, Mr.Custer" and countless other parody songs. If you are old and decrepid like myself, you may remember him from the Merv Griffin Show in the late 60's early 70's.

Heh, I used to watch those every Saturday...only ones that still stick out are "I'm just a bill" and "Conjunction Junction"
