Title: Brady, Just turn fleets off

The most unbalancing factor in the setup is fleets parking themselves right off shore.  I don't like it for either side and we don't need them.

As much as I sympathize (having experienced the same fleet parking tactic with the ack umbrella, etc) I still would miss carrier ops. The one other thing I like as much as getting a kill (and have better luck at ... well usually) is catching the trap.

Problem is the need for the fleet to be close enough to release the LVTs.

Perhaps make the LVTs unlaunchable from CV fleets and limit the their ability to be positioned close to shore and only launch LVTs from Cruiser fleets.  Dunno.  Sounds like a typical dumb idea, dont it.

A classic example of why I suggested the fleets be turned off was last nite.  There were several fleets in the area just northwest of A41.  It was almost impossible to have a decent dogfite in that area due to ship ack.

The only defense I've seen against the fleet off the beach problem is a mass PT boat attack. Granted you lose a bunch of PT's but this seems to get the enemy skippers attention much faster than trying to take a zeke off on a runway under fire from naval ack guns.

Terrain should be built with bases far enough inland that tis problem won't manifest itself.  An LVT can always drive from the shore to the inland base.
