Title: Scoring Discrepancy Question
Post by: RacrX on April 08, 2003, 03:32:48 PM
Why does it show that I have 144 kills under my squad scoring and 219 in expanded scoring? I mean I have more kills in an F-6F in expanded then my TOTAL fighter kills under the squad scoring.

My squad is bugging me about this too...

The scoring system is so confusing and complicated that I doubt if anyone can explain it in enough detail, such that any pilot could figure out exactly what is happening to create your overall score. While there are those who would give you a general picture of the scoring system, it would take pages of mathematical formulas to give you the exact scoring system.

It's time to revamp the scoring system and make it much more simplified.

Well yea the system is complicated but you would think they could get the # of total kills right: Vehicle seems to match up but Fighter kills are WAY off.

Click here and then on my name and look at fighter kills.

Now go here and type in RacrX and note the differences...

Someone must know the reason for this..

Prox kills don't count on the "score" page.  That would explain a few of the differences, but not all of them.

Prox, DO count on the score page. (they don't give perk points tho)

What's probably the case is that you've killed gv's when doing a fighter sortie. Those will not list on your score card (under fighter sorties), only for the plane variant.

Looking more into it I can see that with the F6F alone you've killed around 30 gv's.

Since only three of these can be done while you were doing an attack sortie, thats 27 of the missing kills right there. I bet the rest are done with the typhoon during a fighter sortie.

When you say "missing" does that mean that those kills are not factored into my overall score + rank? That would cerainly suck...If I had chosen attack scoring would they have shown up there?

12 of the 'lost' kills would be with ship gunner. You get points but they don't count as kills.

Last time I checked, proxy kills count on the stats page and not the score page.

yepo you guys got it all right....

if you kill a GV in "fighter" mode it will sho on "expanded kill stats" but will not count as a kill to your "rank"... it will actually hurt it.
(because the rounds you put into that GV count as misses thus reducing your "hit percentage")

also proxy kills show un in "expanded kill stats" but not in the "rank" ... like when somone makes a plane auger in a goon. it will sho they have X kills in a goon but maybe 0 kills in bombers.

i think you all get the idea.

oh well my 2¢
