cAN YOU EDIT A MAP?...I mean..can we add a base..or oil refinery complex to an existing map? Is it fairly easy?

Can someone here do it for me?

Im in need of a map for a Snapshot coming up. Ploetsi Raid(Operation Tidalwave)

 I need a large oil refinery complex in one area. we dont have a Romania map so im thinking any "desert style" map should work..

is a source file the original map?..like..Mindanao..or Trinity or the Isles..?

If so..i just have what HTC has available. For the MA-CT's and SEA stuff

i'm on about the files the terrain editor makes before it compiles it into a .res file

hmm..im lost Ben...can you explain more?

I have never used the terrain editor.

My basic question is..Can i add bases/strat targtes to a map that we have dowloeded from HTC? like adding a base to the Trinity map.

NO!

What BenDover is saying about source files is, all Terrains ( the .res map files ) that you either Download when connecting to a game Online or in H2H or Download from the HTC Download site are made up of several files.

For example, lets use akdesert.res terrain

When this terrain was made using the Terrain Editor it had files that represented things like, land textures, land elevations, field types and location, planes available at fields etc etc at least 10 or more files.

When the Builder was happy with this terrain he just click a button in the terrain editor and it would compile all these files together to make one file called         akdesert.res

This is what you use to fly around in.

The only way to make changes to this akdesert.res terrain is to have all those other files.

ahh..I get it..So when I(the general player) go and D/L AK deset map and im playing in the MA with it...I dont have all the files that made it?  Im still lost..


I will restate my question..maybe thsi will be easier..

Can i ask someone here to add a strat target to a Pre made map already available?

Hungary by 10Bears is the closest geographically I can think of. Pretty recent too so should be relatively few bugs.

"Desert style"? You do know where Romania is right :confused:  :p

ya..ok Romani is not desert...

im thinking of where the TidalWave operation left from..Afrika..

I will look at 10Bears Hungary map...
