I just got the X-45, it's pretty good.  There only things I don't like about it are the pinky switch on the right hand (it gets in the way) and the built-in rudder on the throttle is awkward, but if you have seperate rudder pedals, that shouldn't be a problem.  If you can physically try it before you buy it, you should.

i use the microcrap sidewinder2 and its smooth, comfy and cheap.

If you are like me and can do well without all the rudder, peddals and other aids it will serve you well :)

Chairboy     The pinky switch is removable. It is only there for people with small hands. It takes a little force but it comes out pretty easy. It will leave you with a contour that your pinkie will fint into easily and doesnt get in the way.

How do you remove the Pinky switch?

Vulcan

The pinky switch is held in by 2 clips. grasp the orange part of the pinky switch and pull up and push firmly forward. The clips will release and there will be depression your pinky will set in perfectly. I discovered this reading a review prior to purchasing the X-45. As soon as I pulled it out of the box I removed the switch. The button is still fully functional, and if you dont like it you can re-install the switch orange extender very easlily.
