Title: Bios Question
Post by: Maverick on April 13, 2003, 06:56:58 PM
I was looking through the setup on my mobo and saw a term I was unfamiliar with. It is "smart drive". The choices are to enable or not and the book is no help at all on this as there is no explanation of what a smart drive is or does. How do I determine if this will help or hinder?

I have 2 drives (HD), an older 10gig @ 5400rpm and a newer 40 gig @7200 rpm which is my boot and game drive, if this info helps.

Thanks in advance

S.M.A.R.T. stand for "Self- Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology"

A smart drive would report if it's starting to fail.
