We have a new article at SimHQ...a series of pictures from a WW2 RAF A2A gunnery training pamphlet. Take a look! See how gunnery was taught way back when!

If the pictures come out small, use a graphics editor to blow them up. In the meantime, we're trying to enlarge them.

Yeah... sure... but they weren't flying headon against a CHOG dweeb. LOL!!
The article also has a link back to Barnes and Noble...

Andy, you the man, dawg!
I'm not exactly sure what I just said, but I think by my continual study of the vernacular employed by my 16 year-old daughter's friends, I've just given you a compliment.

Very nice, Andy. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I especially like the page that explains deflection shooting - one of the captions reads:
"Line of sight of Hun."

Folks
I've redone the pictures so that they are easier to read. We should get them posted ASAP.
Look for pics where the page lies 'up and down'. They are done in .bmp format and hopefully have better detail.

Thx for the article, and indeed the link to the book!

S! all
Notice that they never show any examples at greater than 30 degrees deflection? That's because almost no one could hit a target at extreme angles in real life. Unlike in AH. Dispersion and the effects of G force on rounds are not modelled accurately enough.

Buzz, do you have data that shows how far AH gunnery is off from actual gravity and dispersion effects?
