Guys I'm a noob to this game. Just downloaded and installed AH and went in to single play mode just to mess around. One thing I noticed was while flying, the game at times would get really jerky fr a second or 2 and then get smooth. Computer is p4/533 2.5ghz. 512 mb ram, gf4 ti4600, xp pro. I have all the latest drivers for my system, including the latest nvidia drivers. All erroneous services have been disabled, and I even turned my AV software off to see if it was interfering but it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

sounds like a sound issue.
turn down hardware sound acceleration a notch.
control panel -->
sounds and audio devices-->
audio-->
soundplayback(default device)-->
advanced audio properties (advance..)-->
performance-->
audio playback (hardware accleration)-->
drop slider back a notch from full.
it sounds more complicated than it is.
that should fix you right up.

Ok , I knocked it down a notch and still the same results. I did notice that even when I'm in the tower I get jerkiness on the mouse pointer. I think I forgot to mention that I'm using SB Audigy.

I use the same sound card....I don't have any issues. What version directx are you using? And make sure you dont have any irq conflicts...Start-----programs------accessories----system tools----system info and check and see if your sound card is on the same irq as say, your video card
