Title: Photoshop Screenshots
Post by: barfo on April 17, 2003, 04:12:06 PM
I am having a problem loading the screen-shot .BMP files into photoshop. It says the "file-format module cannot parse the file" when I try to load the picture.

I have a little .bmp programming experience so I decided to look inside the .BMP file with a hex editor to see if I can find anything wrong wth it. I couldn't figure out what the problem is that photoshop is complaining about. I did notice that the .BMP is 32 bit RGB_QUAD mode and, incidently, my photoshop won't let me generate 32 bit RGB BMP files. That might be the related..

Has anybody been able to edit these files in photoshop? The reason I want to do this is to convert them to indexed color mode so the size will be much smaller. These things are 5 megabyts each right now.

Thanks for any help.

quickest way i found is opening with paint, and copypasting it to PS from there.
