Post by: anonymous on April 18, 2003, 02:42:18 AM
flying the hellcat mostly because im flying off line and its fun blowing stuff up. tried the hellcat against dudes in head to head and im getting murdered. i need to learn how to shoot down enemy airplanes but first i need to learn to turn without spinning and crashing half the time or more. whats a good aircraft for learning in? ive got a book that shows something like twenty basic maneuvers like loop barrel roll and such im trying to learn those.

If you want to perform acrobatics, Spit MkV, or A6M2, A6M5. (I find the A6ms to be more stable than the Spits)

The Hellcat will maneuvre fine as well, but you need to start a little faster.

Don't believe them they are trying to make u a weak target so they can kill u like cowards.

U better get the TBM u can do everything in it from acrobatics to gunnery and lining up bomb and torpedos.

Don't forget its the only plane that uses rockets.

And last but not least u have a concrete tail wich is almost impossible to shoot of.

The TBM is the most versitale plane in the arena.

Please note:  Anything spewed forth by a Cloggie can be immediately discounted as complete and utter kloten.

Suggest bablefish for a translation of kloten.

For a complete newbie i think the best plane to learn in is the Zero. It will teach you the FM of the game and give you a basic feel in combat.

Once you get a feel for the FM of the game, move up to the Spitfire IX. This will give you a feel for faster flying & fighting, as well as a feel for the most common guns in the game (20mm and 50 cal)

Then move to the P-51, it will teach you energy management.

Finally, when you're up for graduation, hop on to the P-38L , if you master that plane, you will master any other with ease.

And whatever you do, stay away from the N1k, it teaches very bad habits. Not to mention its a loser ride ;)
