"I'm not so sure the role of the United States is to go around the world and say, 'This is the way it's got to be.'"
and
"Let me tell you what else I'm worried about: I'm worried about an opponent who uses nation building and the military in the same sentence. See, our view of the military is for our military to be properly prepared to fight and win war and, therefore, prevent war from happening in the first place."
Pop quiz; first one to get it right will get a free beer when he/she visits Denmark.
Maybe I should put those two in my sig file, next to the current ones :D.

I've been telling him that for days, in fact I made this one after I saw ugly santa's was.. :D

Canidate Bush said a lot of things during that summer. Apearently he didn't have foresight to have contingency plans in case of terrorist attack...
Then Dec 11, 2000 happened.. (a more important date than 9-11)
Here's what fmr President Clinton said the other day.
"Our paradigm now seems to be: Something terrible happened to us on September 11, and that gives us the right to interpret all future events in a way that everyone else in the world must agree with us. And if they don't, they can go straight to hell,"
-
Why istn Clinton staying out of the politics now? I thought it was understood that once your precidency ends, you shut the he** up.
Having a bunch of ex-pres running around talking like that undermines the leadership of the pres, no matter who he is.
-
Because I had mine FIRST.
And mine is the correct one.Grün modified the shield on his, so now it isn't the right angles.
I keep tellinh him this, but he is being American about it and not listening :D
-
Wow the Clinton cult is still alive... So you are sying that a few words clinton said are more important to american history than 911.. How sad...
-
I did not cahnge angles on mine, there were pointy ones and round ones...

Yes, it must have really stung Shrub when his daddy criticized his actions too. I guess Shrub is too old for Bush to spank.

I wish that were true, but the invasion of Iraq was planned by PNAC long before 9/11. PNAC's members and participants reads like a who's who of the Bush Administration.

Don't read the Washington Post... read the whole speach they "cited". Sr. did not criticize Jr.'s decisions. Most of what was quoted was in defense of "we should have finished this in '91, but Sr. screwed the pooch with his decision". Amazing how there was an 8 year stretch in between when no decisions were made.

CC that Crow, what's even more chilling in the PNAC report is the part where they talk about needing a "Pearl Harbor type event" in order to get the ball rolling..

I would hope that if George Sr. has something to say that Jr. would be wise enough to at least listen.
-
10 Bears, surely you are not suggesting the the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by the PNAC, Are you?
What PNAC report are you referencing, btw? I'd like to see that for myself.
Thanks

Do you see a difference between an ex pres doing that in private, outside the media light, or on the six o clock news?
-
I would like to know what is said. But that is just me. I don't think it undermines anyone, except maybe for the person who says it. I have a mind and can think for myself, what an ex-pres says isn't going to change that. You listen to what people say, it either makes a good point or it doesn't.
Except for that teacher from columbia, that kinda irked me.

All you left wing consipicay theory nuts are pretty dumb, dont you realize how much you sound like those militia types and their zionist occupied government crap?

No of course not, he will come in here and deny it. But of course he did get the suggestion in there didnt he...

Grun,
Is suggesting 911 a conspiracy taboo?
In late 1942 there was a little blip in the New York Times on page 38.. It was reported that over one million Jews had been murdered in Germany. At the time it was written off as a conspiracy theory. As you know in the spring of ’45 this theory turned out to be true.. except much worse than was thought.
In 1986 there was a conspiracy theory that President Reagan was trading arms for hostages to Islamic countries then selling them arms and using the money to support his private war in central America against the wishes of Congress. At the time, the people that expressed this view were called oddballs, weirdos, tin foil hat crowd.. Only one problem, the theory turned out to be true.
There are many many people that believe Oswald didn’t act alone in the assassination of President Kennedy and there is creditable circumstance evidence that this is more than a theory.
I didn’t suggest 911 was a conspiracy BUT, there is quite a few un answered questions that might shed some light on this. The fact that Bush has cut the investigation off at the knees doesn’t aleve my suspicions. The fact that the PNAC report written in 1996 suggesting they needed a “Pearl Harbor” event is not really helpful either.
How did I know Syria was to be the next target?... Why, I read it in the PNAC report that’s how.
What PNAC report are you referencing, btw? I'd like to see that for myself.
Yes, this is a very interesting read Syzygyone. Open up goggle and type in “Project for the new American Century”.
EDIT: Just saw your privite message Syzygyone, here ya go.

Here is the PDF that was written before 911,

Take a look at page 50...
I don't make this sht up..

You are suggesting it right now... You want to think 911 was a deliberate attack done by americans - thats enough for me.
You are very sad...
Do you think that FDR caused Pearl Harbor too?
-
Do you think that FDR caused Pearl Harbor too?
No.. I do believe the right wing Military Industrial Complex had a hand in murdering President Kennedy due to the fact he was about the pull the advisers out of Viet Nam.
Grun, a good police detective never discounts any suspects until he is able to sort through all the evidence... This hasn't happened yet.
-
Kennedy wasnt any sort of Vietnam pacifist - he was a pretty good damn sold cold warrior.. I think this advisors myth built up as some lefty liberal anti war wetdream... Sorry I dont buy it.
As for 911, why did Osama bin laden take credit for it? Lemme guess he was still working with the CIA.
Why did all the 911 cellphone calls from the planes say they saw arabic men - another lie.
Dont you libs love pointing out that most of the 911 hijackers were saudis. If the 911 attack was a CIA fraud meant to enable a war in Iraq or Syria why not just make them all Iraqis or Sirya?
-
Whats really sad is how you think that 911 justifies anything you want it to justify.
The greatest military adventurer of the last 40 years is George Bush Jr.
No one else even comes close.

Afghanistan, oh yes we should never have done that - no no never. Very questinable..

You Bush haters are nuts..

I'de say saddam gives him a run for his money

Put on your little armband and march in the streets grunhurtz
Your idol is setting things right in the world.
The easiest way to recognize a military adventurer is the risks they take. And the focus on will. Mystical will sees us through. Success makes them more bold yet.
Anyway your an idiot. Their own rightings reveal the presidents advisors to be military adventurists of the highest scale. I doubt they would deny it.
-
Who said this in 1999?
"Nice day if it don't rain."
?
-
You are an idiot pongo. That you ignore all the other leaders who satated multimple wars of CONQUEST based on everythiung from ideology to theology in the past 40 years and just focus on Bush's ONE agressive war and call him the greatest military adventurere and others not being even close proves your stupidity.
But for the sake of argument and wanting to see how you will embarrass yourself waezing out of reality tell me why Saddam Hussein who started two agressive ideological, religuos, political and economic wars of conquest is not even close to Bush as a military adventurer?
-
LOL
he invades two of his neigbors in 30 years and he is a great adventurer. The first of them he did almost at the behest of the US.
The second he thought he had the approval of the US.
At the rate bush is going he will have invaded 30 countrys in 30 years.
you dont have a clue gh.
head in sand.
chant your mantras you poor brainwashed little nut case.
-
So you are saying bush will be around for 30 years? Talk about brainwashed...
Are you also saying that the Afghanistan war was some sort of military "adventure" and not a legitimate response to 911. Dont tell me you are one of those who thinks we should have bombend Langley Virginia after 911 and that the CIA ran the attack?
And franlky saddam did the two wars within two years just like bush. The iran war ended in 89 and he invaded kuwait in 91, so even on those grounds you are full of crap.
Nice attempt at weazeling out and I think you did a fine job of embarassing yourself with your idiotic fanaticism towards bush...
Tell me is Bush worse than Hitler? I know its past your 40 year timeline but I think its fair to say evil on the scale of bush should transcend all time barriers, dont you?
I await your comical response...
BTW I must say you are starting to sound more and more like the Iraqi inforamtion minister.. I enjoyed your press conferences very much. I know well get those bastard mercinaries and that adventurer bush sooner or later!
