Hallelujiah! Now I've got ADSL I can finally fly - and I've signed up for 6 months.
Good ping rate, no disconnects, several sorties, and I even got a kill! And this was on my low-spec machine.
Not quite got the knack of taking off in a fully laden Lanc yet :{

Yeah I've noticed them thar Lancs are just a teenie bit cumbersome on take off.
My first launch in a Lanc I ran out of runway before I got the 'ol gal airborne.
Those engines were screaming, the copilot was screaming, my gunners were screaming and my navigator simply jumped but by jeeves I got her up :D

Lanc - only take 25% fuel, go to near the end of the runway, pull up, get it flying, and level off to gain speed. You can use the outside view (F3) to check your ground clearance at that point if need be. Once you get climbing, bring up the 2 notches of flaps that are preset automattically for you before takeoff. Bring them up one at a time. Dont forget to do this, or it will climb very slow and never accelerate.
Welcome to AH, congrats on the kill.

Errr?
It launches with flaps already preset?
You sure thats not in the auto-launch mode (which I don't use)?
Didn't use flaps the first time I rolled out a Lanc but would explain why it climbed so stinking slow and had next to no speed :D

Welcome to AH qts :)
Yer hooked, pal. :D

If the runway heads out to sea, I'm fine, but land...
And I did say 'fully laden'.
As for being hooked, I've been hooked for over a year - it's just that I've not had a reliably decent link.
I'm doomed :}
