Just read a post by Skuzzy (More Fun Than a Barrel of Monkeys), and really enjoyed it.
It's unfortunate that there are not more of these types of posts here, instead many are made to berate or criticize others.
We should all send a WTG to Skuzzy for lifting this board out of the sewer for a change. Hope his style is infectious (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

As does a post berating those that berate others.
How about posting stories of your own instead of complaining that not enough stories are posted?

Unbelievable....and depressing.
Deja....I wasn't complaining, just thought that at times this board gets out of hand and that it was refreshing to see something positive and of a good nature posted here.
I thought that at times the negative attitude on this board might get old, and that some that read my post might agree and contribute some positive experiences themselves.
I tried simply to encourage others to share some of their good times with all of us.
What I forgot to consider when I made this post, is that there would be simpleminded, critical malcontents, that would try to take something posted in a positive vein and turn it into crap!
You must be one huge bunch of fun to hang around with.

A post pointing out the negativity on a board is also negative.
Lead by example.
If you don't want to see negativity... stick to posting positive things.
instead many are made to berate or criticize others.
This statement is critical. Do you get it? Once again.. if you want to see less criticizing.. criticize less.

By the way Ice.. see my comments in Skuzzy's thread. I enjoyed it too. I wish there were more like it too...
Unfortunately.. this thread started out nothing like it. It is critical and condeming... not uplifting at all. You took a decent thread (Skuzzy's) and used it to start this one.
Just felt like pointint that out to you.

When you take part of a sentence out of context and quote me, yes that did sound condemning. Was not my intention and I fail to see how anyone could see it that way if they read it in context.
As to my other post to you...you nailed that one.
If the shoe fits slick...wear it!
I'll do myself a favor and perhaps many more like you Deja and bug from posting on this board all together. Beside...I'm out of piss.
Sorry if I offended anyone else.

Damn AKDejaVu what bug flew up your ass?
Ice's post was positive and was asking for more people to post like Skuzzy.
Looks like you are just trying to find something to squeak about.
Here let me give you a topic:

This is the bug that flew up my ass.
The number of people with negative posts is greatly outweighed by the number of people responding to them or re-hashing them.
To bring up negative posts yet again is unecessary... yet here we go again.
To be honest, this forum loves negative posts. It loves morons. It loves having a target to vent on. An easy victim. People have gotten so used to vulching in the arena they look forward to coming here to do the same thing.
I'm not trying to play the moral superior here. I've contributed to some of the threads. I'm not trying to pretend I didn't.
Maybe demanding that everyone else be more positive ins't really the way to go about things? Can't anybody else see this? How about just being more positive in yourself/myself/ourselves and not worrying so much about the negative?
The initial post basically criticized the entire posting style of this board, with one exception. Wether it was merrited my response or not.. it was critical.
People just need to stop being so fricking pompous and start walking the talk.
AKDejaVu... walking right now (no more on this one)

AKDejaVu: I am totaly lost of this one! I read skuzzy's post and really enjoyed it. I have been flying for so long I guess I lose sight of the fun an excitement at times! If I read your post right you agree and thought it was great too. I thought Ice's comments were right on too in incouraging everyone to give "skuzzy" a WTG and reminding us we should be more positive. I'm not sure what you ment about his post berating those that berate others? I guess I didn't read it the way you did. I have been guilty of mud slinging at times myself as a lot of us have. I think this board and the game could be a lot more fun if we thought more about who to say things more constructively.
Ice: Good Post.. I think I am going to take your advice. Heck, I even acknowledged that I thought FISHU was a good pilot a while back in another post. That was hard on the my ego to realize that the real problem was me. It was my inability (at the time)to realize he was flying smarter than I was. I razzed him about running, only fighting from an advantage and knowing all the tricks and using them. Hmmm I was pretty dumb.. I learned from that and am trying to do those things. Thanks FISHU <S>! hehe but I am getting the same cat calls I used to give you.
Scuzzy: I really injoyed your post on (More Fun Than a Barrel of Monkeys)WTG!!! Great Post!

Thunder, you chose to post that in this lame bellybutton thread. Bringing this up to the top to be read before Skuzzy's. If you like Skuzzy's post.. tell him in that post. Bring THAT post up to the top for people to see.
Anyone notice that another pilot chose to share a good experience in the arena? I wonder.. not a single person said thankyou.
Walk the talk.

I think I will! Good suggestion! I read this post after I read skuzzy's and it made sense so I replied here first! But you make a great point! On my way to Congratulate Skuzzy and bring it to the top!

Hi Ice... <S>
You didn't offend me and your point was a valid expression of your opinion and feelings, to which you are indeed entitled.
There are just some folks who, for whatever reason, feel a compunction to exercise their need for "control" through posts that marginalize or minimize others. Unfortunately, it's much easier to do this in this abstract Internet world where one sees no real people, but rather their text personas only. I'm sure if these same people met in a real life setting such as a CON, you wouldn't see this kind of behavior play out.
I think that's why the "personal attack" kind of posts you speak of appear to dominate a fair amount of all boards, regardless of whether it's HTC, AGW, or some completely different game environment. Some are brutally blunt, while many of the Masters of this "black" art, are very skillful in baiting others, as well as highly manipulative with their style of prose. I think you've probably seen both forms, so it's a simple matter of understanding their real agenda before engaging in threads with them.
BTW, I do enjoy your posts....so keep them coming.
Regards,
Badger

Ice,
I dig precisley what you are saying but Im not the least bit surprized that some took it for a complete 180.

Well.. I'm sure someone did miss the boat here yeager. I guess its just a matter of wich one you actually ended up on.
Oh.. maybe I should use a wink on that?

That's why Yeager. How should I have taken it?
Does the wink somehow make it less critical?
Its strange... I found the initial post to be critical. Since then, from those that agree they'd like to see less critical posts:
What I forgot to consider when I made this post, is that there would be simpleminded, critical malcontents, that would try to take something posted in a positive vein and turn it into crap!
You must be one huge bunch of fun to hang around with.

In this thread, people say they want less critical, then criticize. Once again, quit talking about it... do it.

I can see both pov's here.....I think Ice was trying to reinforce the good post of Skuzzy's in a seperate post, and Deja is saying just walk the walk....
Having said that, both parties kind of took a tailslide back as the thread progressed and became what they don't like.
Also, Deja, I respect the hell out of you and the AK's, but your posts in this thread are starting to look like RAM's with all of the cut and paste quotes belaboring the same point over and over. No smiling face added, because I'm not trying to offend you in the first place.
Just walk the walk, I like that! Sounds like good advice to me.
