You would be better off with 30mm chaingun from the Apache on a M2 mounting :D

what makes me curious....

he weight listed (127lbs) not super heavy.... so why is there such a performance degridation when loading these 30mm's in LW planes in AH?

is it a different variant than what we have?

is it the ammo that causes such horrible performance?

oh well my 2¢

I have MK 108 listed at 88 kg ( ~194 lbs ) and mass of 100 round belt ( doesn't list type ) being 59.5 kg ( ~131 lbs ).

No idea if AH has the Fw 190A-8 rigged so that selecting the MK 108 also implicitly adds the mass of additional armor and not just the weapons'.

In a Bf109G6/G10 you can definitely feel the difference in handling with MK108 vs a single 20mm, but its nowhere near the difference when mounting gondolas so a 30mm is  a better choice for more instantaneus firepower.  However overall the single 20mm will give about the same number of kills per sortie as the 30mm, because its easier to hit in a turn and the firepower isnt bad at all because you can, and should,  fire  the single 20mm and two 13mm at once as the trajectory is nearly identical.

yeah exactly fats ... this link showes the lower weight but,

even using your weights listed the 30mm in the A8 would be about 350-400lbs total.

it sure feels like ALOT more than that with the 30's added
